We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the role of Activities Service Technician. COMMUNITY
The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 120 people who live on-site year round, consisting of: full-time staff, families, interns, and gap-year students. Glorieta is somewhat remote with beautiful mountainscapes and about a 20 minute drive from Santa Fe.

JOB DESCRIPTION
Title: Activities Service Technician
Department: Program Support
Reports To: Director of Program Support

Job Purpose: This is a full-time, hourly position. The Activities Service Technician’s (AST) functions as a member of the Program Support Team and contributes to the mission and objectives of Glorieta Adventure Camps. The primary responsibility of the AST is to ensure that all participants using the challenge course elements, ziplines, and adventure activities, have a safe and rewarding experience. In addition, the AST will at times assist with a variety of other responsibilities including guiding adventure experiences for guests, assisting with bicycle and trails maintenance, and special projects that enhance the overall guest experience. Traits that are critical to success will include good judgment, flexibility, patience, and the ability to manage multiple projects at the same time. The AST must be able to thrive and enjoy a supportive role and know how they contribute to the overall mission of Glorieta Adventure Camps. The AST often works independently, but must also be comfortable leading groups as well as working closely with others on training programs, tourism, planning, and similar tasks.

Overall Responsibility
Assist CCM as needed with management of safety, including, but not limited to, developing, maintaining, and implementing Policies & Procedures for each element and activity.
Assist CCM as needed with inspections and maintenance of all elements and activities.
Keep current with all regulations, standards, and new requirements that will affect the challenge course industry.
Uphold maintenance and inspection protocols in compliance with industry standards including proper documentation.
Continually improve elements and activities through the identification of issues and pursuit of long-term solutions.
Willingness/Ability to learn to operate heavy machinery such as a skid steer.
Able to efficiently manage summer staff.
Assist in recruiting summer staff.
Regularly monitor activity facilitators to ensure compliance with Policies & Procedures.
Communicate with Challenge Course Manager, Recreation and Activities Training Manager and Director of Program Support to ensure elements and activities are available, in operational condition, and properly set up.
Oversee set up of elements and activities for use by programs when required.
Construct and reconstruct, under the direction of the Challenge Course Manager, elements and activities as needed
Contribute to the development of new elements and activities keeping with Glorieta’s mission and pursuit of unique high adventure activities.
Assist with maintenance and repair of wheeled assets (mountain bikes, BMX bikes, mountain scooters, and drift trikes as needed)
Assist with trail maintenance including removal of downed trees and branches, rocks and trash as needed.
Assist the Special Projects manager as needed with projects to enhance programs and guest experiences
Participate in department or all camp work projects as needed.
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.

Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience:
The ideal candidate will have:
A personal relationship with Christ that permeates all aspects of his/her life
Ability to manage, encourage, and get along with a variety of people simultaneously and communicate well with their supervisor, team members, staff, and guests
Willingness to perform routine tasks regularly and on time, with deadlines daily, weekly and monthly
Must have proficiency in the Microsoft Word and Excel, their Google counterparts, Google Drive, and Gmail and the ability to learn new systems with an ability to write formal documentation clearly and accurately
Strong problem solving skills and a desire to learn new things quickly
A strong sense of self-motivation accompanied by a good work ethic and the ability to work alone for extended periods of time
A natural ability or strong desire for organization, accuracy, and attention to detail
Must have experience working with hand tools
Ability to understand industry standards and apply as necessary to unique elements and activities in order to write clear and concise inspection documents
Must be able to perform tasks out of the ordinary on short notice with a degree of flexibility
Ability to safely work at height and perform manual labor at height
Familiarity with zipline operation & maintenance.
Working knowledge of basic ASTM, OSHA, and ACCT Standards
Must be comfortable with heights
Prefered, but not required: Familiarity with high angle rope rescue techniques
Prefered, but not required: ACCT certifications
ACCT level 1 or 2 certifications
In-house inspector level 1
Prefered, but not required: Ability to earn and maintain Lifeguard Certification

Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location.
Travel: Minimal travel will be required for training.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60+ lbs, sit in office, stand all day, bend, squat, be willing to get your hands dirty, hike, spend extended time suspended in full body harness
Work Environment: Most work will be done outdoors.
Training: All Program Support employees will be given opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
Compensation: Full-time, hourly with housing, utilities, and benefits.
