Guest Group Manager

Berea Ministries is searching for a qualified, motivated, relational, and organized individual who will assist in soliciting and stewarding the guest groups who rent our facilities. This individual will also assist in ensuring the safe, effective, and efficient use of Camp Kerith regarding programs and facilities. This position reports to the Director of Guest Groups. This position also has openings at multiple levels of leadership.

This is a key hire as Berea Ministries continues to grow and expand operations. Our year-round programs attract increasing numbers of attendees from around the Northeast, and it is our hope to steward our facilities well as we share them with guest groups from all over the region. This individual would be responsible for actively pursuing connections with new potential guest groups, being the primary point of contact for group leaders, ensuring that current guest groups enjoy their experience staying at our locations, completing all necessary paperwork, and following up with guest groups about their experiences following their time with us. This individual must be passionate about making new connections and stewarding relationships well, as well as detail oriented regarding administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:

Each of Berea Ministries’ staff members is responsible to interact with guests as a function of their job in order to achieve Berea’s mission and help people take their Next Step with Jesus Christ. Therefore, every employee is responsible to uphold, embrace, and live out Berea’s Statement of Faith and Mission Statement. It is crucial that each employee, regardless of their role within the organization, seeks to become more like Christ each day as part of their work to help foster an environment where true life-change can occur.

Responsible for scheduling and booking guest groups and working with the Office Manager to avoid calendar conflicts.

Responsible for actively soliciting new churches and ministries for Berea’s guest group program.

Responsible for organizing past group information and following up with group leaders to encourage a re-book for the following year.

Responsible for dispensing information to and from Berea’s full-time staff and acting as a liaison between the guest group and Berea.

Responsible for generating contracts and invoices as needed to each guest group.

Responsible for dispensing necessary information to currently booked groups as well as potential groups, including, but not limited to guest group information packets, brochures, and payment reminders.

Responsible for offering and facilitating tours to interested parties.

Responsible for working with the Operations and Program departments to discuss the needs of upcoming guest groups.

Responsible for being available while guests are on Berea’s grounds for responding quickly to their needs.

Responsible for AV setup and breakdown and for post-event checks around the Berea site.

Responsible for attending Managers’ Meetings and other staff functions along with serving on other standing and ad hoc committees (safety committee, etc.)

Responsible for accepting and processing group payments.

Responsible for Shift Supervisor obligations on site when necessary.

Responsible for setting a consistent example of joyful service.

Responsible for working with others, as a team, to further the ministry of Berea.

Responsible for other tasks as assigned by the President/CEO.

Responsible for meeting and accepting the work environment and physical demands outlined in the Job Descriptions Appendix.


Qualifications:

• An ideal candidate is disciplined, dependable, teachable, good with people, has strong administrative skills, general common sense, flexibility, and is willing to grow.

• A passion for Jesus Christ and His Church is required.

• Valid driver’s license.

• Experience managing a team is preferred.

• Significant camping experience is preferred.

• Sales experience is preferred.
