Second Cook - Seasonal

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Second Cook to join our team at Diamond Arrow for the summer season. The ideal candidate will have a passion for creating delicious meals, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to maintaining a positive and Christ-centered atmosphere in the kitchen. Come join the Diamond Arrow team and assist us in providing a premiere camping and conference experience for Christian groups of all ages!

Responsibilities
Meal Preparation - Prepare one to two meals per day, adhering to designated menus and dietary guidelines. Ensure the quality and taste of meals align with the expectations and standards set by Diamond Arrow. Supervision and Leadership - Supervise and coordinate activities within the kitchen to ensure a smooth workflow. Provide guidance and leadership to kitchen staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment. Menu and Dietary Considerations - Maintain awareness of special dietary requirements and allergies among campers and staff. Kitchen Maintenance - Oversee the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. Participate in routine cleaning and maintenance tasks, including equipment care. Adherence to Christian Values - Uphold and model Christian values, fostering a positive and respectful environment in the kitchen and throughout the camp. Encourage spiritual growth and fellowship among kitchen staff.

Requirements
Must have a solid knowledge of cooking for large groups, have excellent people skills, be able to lead and encourage a crew of young people, and be a meticulous cleaner. Must be self-motivated, efficient and be able to work well individually and as a team member. Must be able to lift 50 pounds and work in cool, warm, and hot conditions. Must be 21 years of age.

Compensation & Schedule
This is a seasonal position effective May 28-August 10, 2024. The person in this position can expect to work 30-40 hours per week depending on group needs. On-site dorm style housing is available if needed. This position pays $18/hour. Meals are provided when groups are eating.
