Assistant Cook Job Description
Responsible to: Food Service Manager
Time: Full-Time during Summer Season

Qualifications:
- Active in a local church, holy lifestyle, committed to ministry.
- Must be 18 years of age or older OR a recent graduate of high school
- Kitchen experience of at least 3 months preferred, but not required.
- Hold a current ServSafe® Food Handlers Certification(or equivalent) or the ability to complete food handler training.
- Hold a current ServSafe® Food Allergens Certification or the ability to complete food allergen training.
- Demonstrated ability to get along well with people and be “guest minded” at all times.
- Alignment with our statement of beliefs and organizational essentials including shared core values, a sense of personal calling to our mission, a commitment to our vision.
- Agree to live on site or within a reasonable daily commute to the camp property.

Specific Responsibilities:
- Assist in the production of quality and visually appealing meals for guests.
- Maintain a clean and efficient kitchen under the direction of the Food Service Manager.
- Responsibilities beyond the scope of this job description may be occasionally required.

Essential Functions:
- Be able to occasionally make shopping runs.
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift or carry items 40 lbs. or less.
- Visually identify hazards, needed repairs, and necessary cleaning throughout the kitchen, and be able to respond appropriately.
- Be an advocate and fan of our camp

Compensation and benefits:
- $325 per week, plus room and board from May 28 - July 15, 2024. Full time employment during summer season with salary paid every 2 weeks.

Expected work schedule:
- Typical summer week is 6 work days and 1 day off with some flexibility. Saturdays and Sundays are often required work days.
