Volunteer Coordinator

The Volunteer Coordinator is the leading recruiter and discipler of volunteers for Living Waters Bible Camp. This can include weekly staff, summer staff, and other volunteer-based positions. The Volunteer Coordinator is the first one to greet the volunteers as they enter the valley and connects them with their supervisor. This person ensures volunteers have meaningful spiritual growth opportunities while serving at Living Waters.

REPORTS
This position reports directly to the Executive Director

MISSIONARY MINDSET
We consider Full-time staff as missionary families serving in the ministry, not a 9 to 5 job for an employee. Therefore, family involvement, daily schedule, yearly schedule, days off, benefits and perks are seen thought the lens of missionary mindset.

FINANCIAL SUPPORT
In order to keep camper fees low (2 Cor 11:9), all Full-time staff are expected to raise support for their ministries. Salary level will not depend on the amount of support coming in. However, a minimum of 75% of yearly income must be secured prior to starting to serve at camp.

RESPONSIBILITIES
• Technical
o Responsible for recruiting all volunteers for the year-round events. This responsibility is currently held by the Guest Services Manager. There will be a 2-year transfer of this responsibility.
o Ensures all volunteers have the correct forms filled out prior to coming to serve.
o Coordinates lodging and meals for volunteers.
o Engages with volunteer staff, greets and welcomes them to camp.
o Creates a joyful environment through fellowship and comradery.
o Prepares or arranges spiritual activities for volunteers (Devotionals, classes, sharing times, and learning times).
o Continually checks in to support volunteer staff throughout the week or weekend.
o Maintains an accurate record of past, present and future volunteers.

• Spiritual
o Share the Gospel to all guests in volunteer interactions.
o Disciple volunteers and encourage them to grow in their Christian Character.
o Committed to studying God’s word to better equip volunteers with God’s truth in love.

• Summer Duties
o Recruits and cares for the Summer-Staff.
o Recruits and cares for Summer Weekly Volunteers.

QUALIFICATIONS
• Spiritual:
o Very strong people skills. Must have a heart that cares for volunteers, a strong vision for discipleship, and a desire to build lifelong friendships with volunteers.
o Have a solid spiritual walk with Jesus Christ.
o Have a servant leadership mentality.
o Exhibit a Christ-like attitude.
o Called by the Lord to serve at Living Waters Bible Camp.
o View this position as a servant ministry.
o Actively involved in a local assembly or church.
o Agreement with the Doctrinal Belief Statement and Code of Conduct of Camp.

• Technical Skills:
o Strong understanding and interest in Camp Ministry
o Computer skills to perform responsibilities (email, documents, worksheets, presentations, online orders, etc.).

• Team skills:
o Team player.
o Must be able to submit to authority.
o Must be willing to accept work direction.
o Strong conflict resolution skills.
o Ability to work with a variety of personalities of campers, staff, and supporters.
o Ability to work with volunteers and other staff members as needed.
o Able to work long hours and have the flexibility to fill voids when needed.
o Available to work weekends.

• Personal skills:
o High organizational skills.
o Willingness and desire to be accountable.
o Able to complete projects and tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
o Able to work independently and follow through with tasks, commitments, and responsibilities.
o Self-motivated.

• Leadership skills:
o Able to manage, train, and supervise volunteers of various ages.
o Willingness to recruit volunteers.

SERVING DISTINCTIVES
• Promote and uphold the vision and mission of Living Waters to guests.
• Acts in the best interest of the overall ministry of Living Waters Bible Camp.
• Maintains a positive attitude toward the position, other staff, and guests to God's glory.
• Full-time staff must have their priorities set on the ministry of Living Waters Bible Camp, the ministry of their family, and the ministry of the local church.
