Office Intern

The Office Intern shall assist the office manager as well as assist the Executive Director, Program Directors, and others as needed. The Office Intern will assist with the registration process, assist with gathering the necessary paperwork to be completed for our program and volunteer staff, and assist with the day-to-day office activities.

This individual must believe the UPBC’s Statement of Faith, adhere to the Camp’s Code of Conduct, and support the Camp’s mission statement, vision statement, and core values. The Office Intern must demonstrate practical and spiritual maturity and will report to the Office Manager.

Duties:

• Answer phones and respond to inquiries with a winsome voice and mannerisms; make and receive phone calls in a way that puts people at ease; and greet and welcome various visitors in a pleasant, professional manner
• Assist in Inventory, ordering, and managing all office supplies; maintain equipment in working order and arrange service as necessary
• Maintain the files, including applications, references, criminal background checks, and State of Michigan Central Registry Clearance checks, for all volunteers serving at UPBC. Due to the nature of the information handled, the person must practice discretion and restraint in the use and dissemination of information
• Manage and maintain the UPBC online registration system (CampBrain)
• Check-Out Saturday Mornings- ensuring campers are released to an authorized adult
• Check-In Saturday Afternoons- Directing volunteers through the process and ensuring that every camper and their parent's first impression of UPBC is warm and welcoming.
• Vacuum & Clean the Office
• Handle Incoming Mail and Camper E-mail
• Work with Media Intern to get all Staff Name Badges ready by Saturday Afternoon
• Assist in other areas of UPBC as directed by the Office Manager or Camp Director

Experience and Qualifications:

• Interest in working in an administrative role
• Ability to navigate Microsoft Word and Excel
• Willingness and ability to try new software with regard to office operations
• Demonstrate practical wisdom, spiritual maturity, and a servant’s heart
• Ability to quickly develop and foster a team environment
