Done: Science Center Intern
Timber-lee offers unique four or five month paid internships in the fall and spring that provide hands-on experience designed specifically to equip participants with ministry, communication and teaching opportunities that are invaluable to a career in Christian camping, outdoor recreation, the education field and many others.
Science Center Interns will spend 30-40 hours per week gaining practical hands-on experience in teaching and leading groups of students, ranging in age from pre-k to 8th grade (predominantly focusing on 5th -6th grade) in a variety of science and outdoor skills classes in a state-of-the-art 14,000 sq. ft. facility that houses more than 60 animal species and 35 interactive displays.
Timber-lee is home to one of the largest residential Outdoor Education and youth retreat programs in the Midwest. The TC interns have the advantage of working closely with many different aspects of these programs, thus gaining knowledge by hands-on experience, as well as learning directly from numerous seasoned professional staff.
Through field experiences working with school groups and youth retreats, and a Christ-centered community, Timber-lee will provide the right environment needed to take ministry minded individuals to the next level of both personal and professional growth.
