Chief Operations Officer

Position Summary

The Chief Operations Officer leads the Operations Team in fulfilling SpringHill’s Mission and in achieving its Vision consistent with SpringHill’s Core Values and Statement of Faith. The Chief Operations Officer is responsible for the development of effective systems and processes that enable the team to reach goals and provide an outstanding experience to all SpringHill’s stakeholders. The Chief Operations Officer is responsible to equip the Operations Team for success and effective leadership, ensuring the team members have the tools necessary to achieve success.



Key roles of the Chief Operations Officer include Stewardship Driver, Protector of SpringHill assets, Systems Developer, Risk Manager, Property Planner, and Human Resource Leader.



Key Job Functions



Ensure that a high level of safety is held in all aspects and areas keeping campers and staff safe physically, emotionally, and spiritually
Eliminate waste and inefficiency from the Operations Team
Responsible to prioritize key initiatives and ensure execution
Create a rhythm for meetings and information flow for the Operations Team to ensure leading and lagging data and metrics are accessible, timely and accurate.
Understand customer’s needs, pain points and interest to gain insight to better serve and support
Meet or exceed financial annual budget targets laid out by the Operations Team
Develop and maintain long-term property and facilities maintenance and renovation plans
Expand and develop current properties and evaluate new properties and assets
Assure that all SpringHill property, equipment, and facilities meet or exceed, local and state regulations as well as SpringHill standards, kids, guests and staff
Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local laws, including licensing and accreditation standards and policies and procedures within the Human Resources Department
Provide direction the Information Systems Team and assure robust systems that meet the demands and needs of SpringHill
Complete other duties as assigned by the President of SpringHill


Experience and Qualifications Requirements



Commitment to the mission and ministry philosophy of SpringHill
Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required, Master’s Degree in Business or Ministry preferred
Minimum of 10 years, director level, leadership experience in children’s, youth, camp ministry or similar ministry
Demonstrated knowledge and expertise leading camp ministry or other ministry work, cultures and organizations.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills required
Effective problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions


Working Conditions and Physical Requirements



Ability and willingness to travel within all regions of SpringHill
Must be able to lift, bend, and twist
Ability to push and pull loads
Must be able to lift frequently up to 35 lbs.; occasionally 35-100 lbs. with assistance
Good hand-eye coordination
