Maintenance Technician
The goal of this position is to maintain and improve the physical property of the camp, including buildings and facilities, vehicles and equipment, and grounds. This individual should perform tasks that will impact both guests and staff in the present and future removing any barriers for growth and helping to create a physical atmosphere where walls can be broken down and real life change, and community can develop. This position will take ownership in the following areas:
- Repair and upkeep for all buildings. - Maintenance of all roads, trails, and grounds. - Upkeep and preventative maintenance of all camp vehicles and equipment. - Work with the director to game plan for future physical updates and improvements that will give added value to guests and staff. - Oversee both volunteers and staff on work jobs to maintain and improve the camp. - Ensure tools are available, in working order, and organized for easy identification so that volunteers and staff can perform duties. - Maintain an organized workspace so that tools and equipment can be easily found and returned by volunteers who only come on site once. - Operate and work within designated budget for all areas and projects.
While this list is not exhaustive of all roles and expectations of this position, the expectation is that this role takes ownership of all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, construction, septic, and mechanical work. This role does not need to be proficient in all areas, but willing to learn, adapt, and contact needed workers or companies needed to complete any project that may arise.
