Housekeeping Supervisor

This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Housekeeping Supervisor supports our guests by providing a clean, safe, and welcoming accommodation. This position is responsible for overseeing hourly housekeeping staff and their daily housekeeping duties of cleanliness in all public spaces, restrooms, offices, and meeting rooms, overseeing lodge preparation, managing laundry and linen services, and managing carpet and floor care, purchasing supplies/equipment, creating/maintaining departmental budget. This position is also responsible for checking and documenting staff performance, training, accountability, and development.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide direction and supervision of housekeeping staff, including preparation of work schedules.
Act as lead housekeeper by assisting in cleaning and checking of facilities.
Oversee cleanliness of carpet and floors in all buildings
Oversee cleanliness of all camp buildings, including linens used
Create and maintaining yearly budget.
Attend weekly OPS meetings.
Research new products/processes that will help improve guest satisfaction.
Teach/train part time staff and summer staff in cleaning skills.
Maintain inventory and purchase housekeeping supplies and equipment.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
Maintain and manage the correct levels of cleaning supplies and paper goods.
Perform other duties as required.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Budget for Housekeeping.
Maintain records of company credit card use and all receipts.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

High school degree required.
EXPERIENCE

Three to five years of housekeeping experience.
Some supervisory experience preferred

KNOWLEDGE

Knowledge of the field of Industrial cleaning and management.
Knowledge of safety procedures appropriate to duties.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.

Ability to effectively recruit, train, develop, coach, motivate, schedule, and evaluate staff.
Effective leadership skills are necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills, encouraging and building mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members.
Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited co-workers, peers and managers.
Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning for the department as required.
Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative.
Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions.
Excellent organizational skills: ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.
Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

Industrial cleaning supplies and cleanliness of properties.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Housekeeping requires some physical agility, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.
Ability to use up to 20 pounds of force routinely, and/or up to 50 pounds of force occasionally.
Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination, including sweeping, mopping, bending and lifting, climbing bunks and ladders, operating vacuums, carpet machines, and floor equipment (scrubbers, burnishers).

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works indoors a majority of time. Occasionally works outdoors when cleaning windows or areas outside of cabins and buildings.

OTHER

Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Must be able to fully support Sky Ranch’s Doctrinal Statement. An active membership in a church whose spiritual beliefs are aligned with Sky Ranch’s Doctrinal Statement.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association.
