Camp Director
Job Summary The Camp Director is responsible for the overall management and administration of the camp ministry. They will provide leadership, direction, and supervision to ensure the successful operation of the camp, while promoting the spiritual growth and well-being of campers and staff. The Camp Director is responsible to the General Director and serves as a member of the Mission’s Administrative council. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and implement a camp program that aligns with the values and mission of Cedine. 2. Recruit, train, assign, supervise, and evaluate camp staff, including the camp council, ensuring that they are capable of providing a safe, positive, and nurturing environment for campers. 3. Oversee all aspects of camp operations, including program planning, scheduling, budgeting, maintenance, and safety. 4. Maintain open communication with campers, parents, and staff to address any concerns and ensure a positive camp experience for all. 5. Foster a Christ-centered community within the camp, promoting spiritual growth, fellowship, and a sense of belonging among campers and staff. 6. Coordinate advertising efforts and collaborate with church groups, schools, and other organizations to promote the camp and expand its reach within the region. 7. Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety standards, and maintain accurate records as required. 8. Manage relationships with vendors, contractors, and other external partners to support camp operations. 9. Coordinate fundraising efforts and community outreach activities to support the financial sustainability of the camp. 10. Serve as editor for the camp book.
Qualifications: 1. Previous experience in Christian camping. 2. Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate others. 3. Demonstrates a feel for Cedine’s camping philosophy. 4. Has counseling ability. 5. CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain). 6. Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as required. 7. Willingness to learn and receive feedback. 8. Willing to work long hours, including evenings and weekends, especially during peak camp seasons.
Additional Qualifications: A. Assurance of Salvation. B. Be maturing spiritually. C. Ability to share Christ with campers and staff. D. Have a genuine love for campers of all ethnic backgrounds and cultures. E. Agree with and willing to cooperate with Cedine's doctrinal statement and philosophy. F. Commitment to unity in the workplace and willingness to support fellow staff members.
