Job Overview:
The Camp Director is a year round role that is responsible for all aspects of the Summer Camp portion of the Shepherd’s Fold Ranch (SFR) ministry. This director level role answers solely to the Executive Director but is part of the over all SFR team. We are looking for a candidate who is passionate, driven and imaginative to continue the exciting ministry at Shepherd‘s Fold Ranch.

Key Performance Qualifiers:

--Background in Christian camping, young adult or children’s Ministry.
--Applicant must agree to and live by the Shepherd’s Fold Ranch statement of faith.
--History with speaking in front of large groups.
--Past use or working knowledge of basic business subjects (budgets and reports)
--Proven ability to supervise staff and campers.
--Have demonstrated aptitude to plan, originate, organize and carry out daily and special programs.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

--Oversee the daily operation of the summer resident camp program.
--The Camp Director will work closely with the Assistant Camp Director to ensure that the staff and participants follow all camp policies, rules and procedures correctly.
--The Camp Director will work closely with the Discipleship Director to assign staff activities and other responsibilities.
--Assist in the development of routines, schedules and procedures for camp operation.
--Maintain and review records and evaluations of all programs, operations, staff and facilities.
--Work alongside the Core Leadership Team to monitor ACA safety and crisis management plans.
--Establish rapport with staff, campers and camper parents to build strong interpersonal relationships.
--Assist in the design and implementation of the SFR marketing plan to increase camper attendance and camp usage.
--Assist in the development and implementation of recruitment and retention strategies.
--Hire, train, supervise and evaluate seasonal staff.
--Monitor the budget for camp operations.

Education and Training Requirements:

--College degree desired.
--Minimum of 4 years in the Christian Camping industry or equivalent.
--Have a basic knowledge of common computer programs (MS Word, Excel, Google Apps).

Other Job Duties:

This position will include additional duties in alignment with the SFR Guiding Principles. Additional duties will include
working alongside professional associations such as ACA, CCCA, and ECFA. Have an understanding of personal needs and ability to communicate those needs as is necessary in a demanding position.

Physical Requirements:

--The ability to listen to others, observe others’ actions, read text and information; comprehend instructions and manuals, and physical ability to move about the camp property in various environmental conditions.
--Physical demands associated with this position include extensive walking, carrying weighted materials (up to 20 lbs), hiking, dancing, speaking in front of crowds, and performing in skits when needed .
--Ability to work in all weather conditions is a must.

Responsibilities and Duties Common to all Staff:

--Exhibit Christlike character and professionalism through all of your interactions, including consistent, timely communication both internally and externally.
--To be willing to place the needs of the camp and its campers above personal desires.
--To exemplify a general attitude of a disciple of Christ by showing helpfulness to other staff and volunteers, campers, parents and user groups.
--To give assistance in any phase of the ongoing operation of the camp when need warrants and when assigned by the Executive Director.
--To exhibit an acceptance of all people no matter their race, religion, national origin, or gender and to possess the ability to work with those with whom you may not fully agree.
--To joyfully give 100% effort to the job with the understanding that we are a ministry devoted to building Disciples of Christ.

Compensation:

Starting Salary $35,500-$40,500 Experience Dependent
May also raise missionary support
Private on site housing with all base utilities paid.
Reports directly to Executive Director
