Summer Staff Recreation Coordinator

As a member of the summer staff, you will have the opportunity to come along side what the Lord is doing at Tejas by Setting the Stage for Jesus to Transform Lives.
We are looking for enthusiastic, Jesus-loving students who have a heart for serving the Lord and others through our Two:Three Summer Team.
Purpose Statement: Support the summer staff team by caring for all aspects of the summer recreation program.
Responsibilities: General Recreation Responsibilities Organize and maintain all recreation supplies for summer purposes Keep an inventory of all necessary equipment and resources Familiarize yourself with all recreation offerings from the guest rec menu Hydration Management Be an example to all summer staff on attitude and service for guests and ministry Support Recreation Coordinator with any needs Weekly Recreation Responsibilities Ensure camp facilities are safe, prepped, and ready for guests each day Ensure that water coolers are distributed wherever needed and kept filled Clean and sanitize coolers after each camp and/or whenever necessary Inform Rec Coordinator when consumable rec supplies need to be reordered Prep all rec areas with supplies, water, equipment and brief summer staff on games Assist in facilitation of recreation and free time activities as needed Light fires for guest groups throughout the summer Plow, fill/drain the mud pit for all mud games activities Ensure pool and lakes are ready for guests before each use, including checking air in inflatables Assist in set up and tear down of Adventure Activities Training & Oversight Responsibilities Work closely with Rec Coordinator to ensure all aspects of rec are cared for Assist with Lifeguard training for summer staff Assist with Adventure training for summer staff Provide guidance and instruction for all lifeguards and waterfront areas Determine weather-related activity closure when/if Rec Coordinator or Safety and Rec Manager are not on campus Assist in the training of recreation games during summer staff training Oversee waterfronts during rec times Guest Service Expectations Be flexible and respond in grace when unforeseen situations require your assistance Recognize needs and act on them accordingly Be the first one to arrive and the last one to leave from Tejas programmed events/activities Create spaces and foster environments where folks can fall in love with the Lord Assist with all services pertaining to the guest experiences in a manner that will contribute to the mission of the organization
