Facilities Manager
PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of the Facilities Maintenance Assistant is to work as an advocate for both guests and staff in order to maximize the experience of the guest and the effectiveness of Tejas as a ministry. The function and appearance of facilities, including grounds, recreation, sleeping, conference, and dining space is created through sound construction practices and maintained through preventative and corrective tasks, resulting in a guest experience that is seamless. This person will serve alongside the Tejas team in fulfilling the Tejas mission of Setting the Stage for Jesus to Transform Lives. This is accomplished by exemplifying our core values: People: Viewing everyone as an image-bearer of Jesus Service: As a means for sharing the Gospel Adventure: As a relational catalyst, and Safety: as an integral part of People, Service and Adventure
RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist with construction and renovation Work through completion of facilities construction and renovation projects as assigned Assist supervisor with volunteers Assist with ordering materials and supplies Assist with corrective and preventative maintenance to facilities, vehicles, and grounds Assist with Family Events at Tejas Assist with Grounds Keeping tasks when needed Assist Facilities Manager with assignments as needed
GENERAL EXPECTATIONS: Communicate effectively both orally and in writing with guests, vendors and staff Serve our guests and staff with a servant-heart and exhibit the Team Two:Three model (Philippians 2:3) Recognize and act on the needs of others Be able to articulate the mission and values of Tejas to guests and staff Be flexible and respond with grace when unforeseen situations require your assistance Demonstrate a desire to grow spiritually and professionally Attend Tejas chapel, staff events and meetings as required Assist in other areas as needed
QUALIFICATIONS: Working knowledge in plumbing, electric, HVAC, carpentry, general maintenance and construction Working knowledge in vehicle maintenance and repair High school diploma or equivalent Previous camp/school/multi-building campus experience preferred Demonstrate an understanding of Facilities and Maintenance Ability to operate various machines
Work Schedule: 40-50 hours per week on a varied schedule with periodic weekend work
We are willing to teach someone with a desire to learn this field.
Time: Full-Time Year Round
