Food Services Intern

Mount Hermon Association (MHA) invites applications for the position of Food Service Intern. As an integral part of our food services team, the successful candidate will work closely with the Executive Chef to ensure that all meals are prepared and served in a timely and efficient manner. You will be responsible for assisting in the preparation, cooking, and serving of meals, as well as maintaining a clean and sanitary work environment, all executed in line with MHA’s mission, vision, culture code, and standards of conduct.

This is a full-year program, commencing in early September (after Labor Day) and ending the subsequent September. The role demands a minimum of 40-45 hours per week, and the candidate will be compensated at an hourly rate of $15.50 (before deductions for meals and lodging, with most meals included).

Interns can expect two exclusive intern retreats along with an all-staff retreat during their time at MHA. These retreats serve as a valuable opportunity for spiritual formation, community development, and work training. In addition to this, weekly intern meetings aim to foster a sense of community and further spiritual development.

Our interns are provided shared housing and are immersed in an enriching environment that combines work, discipleship, and community. While serving our guests alongside our year-round staff, interns are engaged in a journey of self-exploration and understanding of their roles in the story of God at work.

In terms of training, the program offers comprehensive instruction and curriculum materials, along with additional teaching, curriculum, and training experiences. Interns will be placed in one of several departments at Mount Hermon and receive top-level training in their area of specialty, complemented with ongoing mentoring.
