Outdoor Education Program Manager

Overview: The Manager’s primary role is to ensure the high quality of the Thousand Pines Outdoor Education programs, and that the staff, students, teachers, and administrators will have an excellent experience in all aspects of the programs.




Essential Functions




1. Implementation of TPOE programs

2. Manage operations related to TPOE programs

3. Provide supervision for OE department regarding development and implementation of:

    ? State science standards into the TPOE programs and curriculum

    ? Facility use and operational needs

    ? Staff hiring, training, and residential life

    ? Safety and emergency response

4. Assist the leadership of Thousand Pines in design and implementation of the OE budgets

5. Provide guidance and insight into the coordination of both schedule and staff for the Genesis Account and American Outdoor School programs




Additional Functions




1. Participate in all necessary TP team meetings

2. Lead TPOE department team meetings

3. Assist Thousand Pines in school and district marketing events and presentations as needed

4. Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Qualifications




1. Minimum education of a Bachelor’s Degree in related field

2. Current Red Cross/American Heart Association CPR and First Aid certifications

3. Minimum of 2 years’ experience in effectively supervising teams, projects, and programs in similar field

4. Full agreement with TPCC doctrinal statement, mission, vision, and values, and compliance with staff handbook

5. Valid California driver license




Physical Demands




1. Abilities sufficient to carry out the essential functions of the job

2. Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather conditions

3. Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs.
