Job Title: Snack Bar Manager
Reports to: ILNC Director of Food Service
Position Type: Seasonal full-time, hourly

Job Summary:
The Snack Bar manager oversees the fast-casual dining, ice cream, and camp-store operations of ILNC. The Snack Bar Manager ensures that all food-safety standards are followed. He or she will work with the Director of Food Service to ensure appropriate staffing and will train and supervise all employees assigned to snack bar duties. The Snack Bar Manager will also work closely with the Food Service Director to ensure that there is accurate accounting of costs and income for the operation.

Responsibilities and Duties:
-Know and support the mission of ILNC: “Indian Lake Nazarene Camp: A sacred space to experience renewal, relationships and recreation.”
-Build positive relationships--encouraging communication and problem-solving--with residents, guests, and team members.
-Assist Director of Food Service in setting and revising Snack Bar menus and pricing.
-Follow operational standards and practices in keeping with ILNC guidelines and oversight agencies.
-Maintain the general condition and cleanliness of Snack Bar facilities, and operate according to the standards of ServSafe and the Kalamazoo County Health Department.
-Supervise and train food service workers.
-Interact with guests to offer the best possible service and value, with a goal of total guest satisfaction.
-Help control costs of labor, food, and supplies in accordance with the assigned budget.
-Open and close cash drawers daily, ensuring cash-handling procedures are followed.
-Use HomeBase application to set employee schedules and authorize timesheets.
-Participate in team meetings.
-Other duties as assigned by the Director of Food Service.

Qualifications and Skills:
-Deeply loves God and people.

-Cool under pressure.
-Creative and flexible in approaching tasks.
-Mature problem solver.
-Physical ability to lift 25-50 pounds, carry at least 25 pounds no less than ten feet, lift items up to 25 pounds at least two feet overhead, and perform moderate physical labor continuously for two to four hours in temperatures up to 90 degrees.
-ServSafe Food Manager certification within the previous five years, or willingness and ability to obtain certification within two weeks of hire date.
-Three to five years of work experience in food service.
-At least one year of supervisory or managerial experience.

Work Schedule/Compensation: This is a seasonal position with hourly compensation.
-Compensation is commensurate with experience, starting at $15 to $17 per hour.
-The expected term of the position is May 1 to September 30.
-The Snack Bar Manager’s core schedule is Thursdays through Sundays from approximately 3 PM to midnight, with some additional late-morning through night hours on other days during special events or holiday weekends.
-The average expected work schedule is 40 hours per week.
-ServSafe Food Manager training class and certification exam provided if needed.
