Description:
The groundskeepers start work by reviewing their to-do list for the day. They check the weather and review the property’s event schedule to determine which tasks to complete first. Throughout the day, groundskeepers work by themselves or with a team and perform more labor-intensive tasks like painting, staining, picking up garbage and tree branches, and moving debris. They operate lawnmowers, leaf blowers, chain saws, and a vast majority of tools, which require a degree of strength. They work to keep all buildings,(inside and out), all vehicles, all equipment, and all tools, clean and in good working condition. A good groundskeeper has a passion for working outside, regardless of the weather. They pride themselves on their work and strive to maintain an environment for all individuals to enjoy. Groundskeepers also are used as support staff in the evenings. These duties include leading evening program games, including set up and take down, building the campfire, leading song actions at campfire, and playing guitar at campfire if able.
