The wranglers help the head wrangler with all the needs for the horses and horse program at Lutheran Island Camp. This includes but is not limited to: caring for the horses, assisting in leading horse camps, assisting in driving the Team, helping lead one hour horse rides, and teaching and guiding the campers. Horse Camp is our most popular camp so a wrangler must be able to instruct campers well. Wranglers must also be willing to learn about children and the best way to interact with different age groups. Wranglers also are used as support staff in the evenings. These duties include leading evening program games, including set up and take down, leading song actions at campfire, and playing guitar at campfire if able.
