Creative Media Intern

This position is critical to the ministry of Sky Ranch and contributes directly to our mission of leading youth and families to know and follow Christ. The Creative Media Intern supports the Marketing team in the recruitment, hiring, planning, and leading of the summer media team, as well as planning, production, filming, and editing of videos.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve in a leadership role over summer staff, including recruiting, interviewing, training, and spiritual development.
Leads AV during summer months and executes strategies for staff retention.
Requires some travel to college campuses and various Sky Ranch sites Sky Ranch Supporting Videographer – includes some evenings and weekends.
Set up, tear down of video shoots.
Organize people, location, staff, and cinematography of the video shoot for all Sky Ranch locations and various program needs.
Work with Sky Ranch staff as support to various program video/audio needs.
Supporting video editor – includes editing Sky Ranch footage, storing and organizing footage on Sky Ranch Vimeo and YouTube accounts and making collateral available to various staff.
Support in leading and managing Summer Media Team – includes setting expectations for summer session videos/photography, opening and closing shows, and servant-minded attitude in the AV booth and across camp as needed.
Represent the Sky Ranch brand at marketing events and other situations deemed necessary, which may require some travel. Provide general support to the Marketing Team as required.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Maintain compliance with Sky Ranch’s employee policies and procedures.
Maintain compliance with all state and federal laws and regulatory requirements.
Contribute to the overall success of the Marketing Department by performing other essential duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Multi-Media Coordinator and Marketing Director
Perform other duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

EXPERIENCE

One year of experience in a related field.

KNOWLEDGE

Adobe editing software like Premiere and After Effects.
Audio Visual systems ProPresenter Proficient working knowledge and ability to use various office software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing excellent customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

Excellent leadership skills necessary to appropriately influence people to achieve a desired outcome.
Ability to relate positively, influentially, and sensitively to a broad spectrum of persons in a variety of multi-tiered relationships and settings to include but not limited to guests (youth and families), clergy and staff of various Christian churches and organizations of all sizes, cultural identities and worship styles, co-workers, and peers.
Proven successful leadership experience; ability to build unity amongst a team and motivate them to work together toward a common mission.
Excellent interpersonal skills, and relationship building skills.
Ability to provide strategic and logistical planning and facilitate meetings as required.
Ability to investigate and analyze information and draw conclusions.
Ability to exercise independent thinking and initiative.
Ability to deal with complex situations or issues and make effective, timely and appropriate decisions.
Excellent organizational skills; ability to multi-task and manage a variety of tasks.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to communicate the vision of Sky Ranch to both internal and external customers.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Physical effort required on a routine basis; ability to use up to 50 pounds of force frequently for moving and carrying objects, including photography and video equipment.
Ability to grasp, push, pull, carry or otherwise manipulate objects; ability to perform tasks requiring action of muscles or groups of muscles and foot and/or hand-eye coordination.
Requires some physical agility, including but not limited to: bending for items below or reaching for items above the individual; crawling under desks; stooping, and climbing step stools or ladder.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Works indoors in normal office environment majority of the time; works outdoors during the summer season.
Ability to travel to various geographic locations, including travel by car, and some overnight stays including weekends.

OTHER

Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally. Must be able to fully support Sky Ranch’s Doctrinal Statement. An active membership in a church whose spiritual beliefs are aligned with Sky Ranch’s Doctrinal Statement.

Must demonstrate annually a clear background check and review of child safety practices as required for camp accreditation by the American Camping Association.
