Conference Coordinator

Organizational Overview:

Tuscarora’s mission is to serve the Christian community by providing programs and facilities for worship, teaching, counseling, and physical refreshment, focusing on the Bible as our standard for living.

Position Purpose:

The Conference Coordinator is a full-time, year-round position which plays a crucial role as part of the group ministry team. This position will develop and maintain relationships with churches and parachurch organizations, play an active role in group conferences including planning, information sharing, and execution, and will work alongside the rest of the staff to uphold the mission of Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center

Requirements:

Display evidence of a Christian character and commitment, along with a passion for the ministry of Tuscarora Inn and Conference Center OR experience in the Christian camp and conference industry

Detail oriented and organized

Creative problem solver

Excellent communication skills to clearly convey the value of a retreat at Tuscarora and an ability to work with a wide variety of people

A willingness to be flexible with fluctuating needs of the position.

Responsibilities:

Drive sales to new church and para church organizations by serving as a tour guide, answering phones and online inquiries to develop new relationships and maintain existing ones

Manage communications and transactions between Tuscarora and group leaders which includes the creation and delivery of contracts, deposit and final payment collections, and finalizing details of retreats

Communicate information on group retreats to managers, supervisors, and various departments

Provide assistance to the front desk when necessary

Maintain accurate data on groups

Salary and Benefits:

The Conference Coordinator salary is commensurate with experience. Employer provided housing is a possibility. Other benefits associated with full-time employment are available upon request. Advancement opportunities are available.
