Facilities Manager

Facilities Manager needed for seasonal camp. Position starts in early to mid-June (flexible start date) and ends in mid to late August.

Summary
The Facilities Manager of North Central Camp Cherith (NCCC) will have primary responsibility (through direct work or supervision/delegation) for the infrastructure of the camp facilities to support the summer camp operations of NCCC (a non-profit, residential Christian camp that operates approximately 10 weeks each summer in Frazee, MN.). The areas of camp responsibilities include: coordinating the maintaining and upgrading of facilities, (including opening and closing camp for the summer season), coordinating and working with summer maintenance and cleaning staff, making sure vehicles are maintained. Position requires living and working on-site 8-10 weeks during summer, with the potential to add on 2-3 opening weekends in spring and 1-2 closing weekends in fall. The Facilities Manager will model love, service, loyalty, dependability, flexibility, and a devotion to Jesus Christ. NCCC is recognized as a unique camping ministry of excellence that maintains its integrity while meeting its mission.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
-Develop and implement appropriate training for maintenance staff
-Develop relationships with maintenance/facility/technology vendors
-Respond to emergency issues related to facilities
-Ensure safety and health standards for each area are implemented
-Demonstrate professional conduct at all times.
-Keep informed and plan for future facility changes/program enhancements
-Evaluate maintenance staff
-Delegate tasks to volunteers and to sweat and serve campers
-Create a list of summer projects, along with the board and site manager
-Find and communicate with vendors related to site maintenance and projects
-Be the first in line to greet contractors, guests, staff, and campers and help them with parking, orientation, etc.
-Delegate tasks to Team Maintain during boys weeks
-Be a part of the maintenance team at camp and work with them on daily tasks and projects.


Qualifications
-Strong interpersonal verbal, writing, and organizational skills.
-Camp Cherith or similar camp staff experience
-Supervisory experience preferred
-Possess the skills to lead and motivate staff and volunteers.
-Display a positive attitude, show concern for people and community, have self-confidence, common sense and good listening ability.
-Ability to operate vehicles. Commercial driver’s license is a plus.
-Willingness to serve with flexibility and enthusiasm as a member of a team and the ability to work effectively with little direct supervision.
-Must pass North Central Camp Cherith’s criminal background check standards.
-Must agree with North Central’s Camp Cherith’s Statement of Faith and be able to articulate the salvation message to campers.
-Must abide by the personal conduct code set out in Employee Handbook.
-Good problem solving skills.

Physical Abilities
-Position will require ability to walk and stand outside for 6-8 hours per day.
-Ability to live at camp, walking daily 2-3 miles on uneven terrain
-Position may require interruptions during night sleep.
-Requires ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and lift on daily basis 25 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds.
-Exposure to insects, bees, snakes, rodents, ticks, moving mechanical parts, gas engines, weather extremes, cleaning chemicals.
