Program Intern

Our hope for this internship is to provide intentional development, care and stewardship of those considering full-time camp ministry. Camp Bighorn seeks to use community, changed environments and “adventure with purpose” to develop and equip disciples of Jesus Christ. We recognize that inviting young people into our community as interns for an extended period of time is an ideal way to accomplish this.

General Description:
We hope and pray that the experiences, relationships and transfer of responsibility at Bighorn will enable young people to be rooted and established in Truth and Love. An intern will be discipled so they are ready to lead, influence, and serve in whatever context they may find themselves in to the glory of God, and advancement of His Kingdom.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Ability and desire to volunteer in a camp setting
- Good character, integrity, ability and enthusiasm
- Multi-task oriented, energetic, organized, and self motivated
- Ability to work with various personalities
- Self motivated and proven ability to take initiative when appropriate
- Attitude of excellence

Internship Responsibilities:
- Assist Program Director with special projects
- Come alongside Summer Staff Coordinator and Pro Shop manager with requests for assistance
- Learn what it means to develop a support network and fundraise
- Assist in guiding when needed in all of the Program Branches: Venture, Journey, Family Adventures, Summer, and Wilderness
- Personally engage in adventures in God’s creation on a regular basis
- Help out with projects in the Program areas, as well as assisting other branches when possible

General Camp Bighorn Expectations
As a member of the Bighorn community you will be expected to:
- Engage in regular times of Scripture reading and prayer
- Regularly and actively attend Staff Connection meeting
- Relationships are a vital aspect of our community and ministry at Camp Bighorn. As a member of our team you will be expected to invest in relationships with the staff, campers, students, and other interns
- Participate in staff trainings and staff retreats, when applicable
- Assist other branches by helping with turnaround, dishes, kitchen help, retreat hosting, programming for retreats, etc
- Submit to the leadership of the Executive Director and the Branch Director team
