Summer Staff

Camp Bighorn is an outdoor adventure camp that seeks to embody the love of Jesus and develop Christ-honoring leaders. Bighorn’s core values are based on Matthew 22:37-39, which include loving God and loving others. Summer Staffers are vital in the implementation of our adventure activities and overall programming. These individuals invest in meaningful relationships with campers, guide conversations, lead and assist with activities, and monitor the overall care and safety of campers.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Age 14 or older
- Interested in growing in a relationship with the Lord
- Will embrace and live out Camp Bighorn’s values
- Good character, integrity, ability and enthusiasm.
- Mature; responsible; independent; initiative-taker
- Be flexible and willing to do what is asked

Ministry and Position Responsibilities:
- Live in a dorm with 4-7 other summer staff and 1-2 Leads
- Form relationships with campers and staff
- Live and work with a service mindset
- Be sure that all campers’ needs are being met
- Rotate in TAC, Facilitation, Food Service and Operations Roles with maturity and enthusiasm
- Technical Adventure Coordinator: Proficiently set up, lead, execute, and debrief adventure trips with excellence
- Facilitation: lead a group of 6 to 12 day or overnight campers. Provide an environment of safety, care and encouragement for all campers. Manage cabin group in accordance with Bighorn policies and procedures. Involve supervisors with cabin life and camper situations.
- Operations: Assist with maintenance of camps buildings and grounds
- Food Service: Assist with preparation of meals including dish and cleaning duties

General Responsibilities:
- Attend daily staff devotions and weekly staff gatherings and meetings
- Invest in relationships with the full time staff and leads
- Assist with cleaning, turnaround, and dishes, as needed
- Raise the required amount by seeking out churches, organizations, and individuals willing to partner with you in ministry
