Job Purpose
The Capital Projects Team Member supports the hands-on execution of capital improvement projects that enhance and maintain Camp Eagle’s facilities. Working under the direction of the Capital Projects Manager, this role focuses on carrying out facility upgrades, renovations, and repairs in accordance with established plans and standards. This position plays an important role in ensuring Camp Eagle’s facilities are safe, functional, and welcoming for guests, staff, and volunteers.
This is an entry-level position designed for individuals eager to develop practical skills in construction, facilities, and project execution while contributing meaningfully to the camp’s mission.

Primary Responsibilities
Project Execution and Support
Assist with the execution of capital projects including facility upgrades, renovations, and new construction.
Work alongside the projects and maintenance teams to complete construction-related tasks such as layout, demolition, framing, finishing, and general repairs as assigned.
Help track project progress and complete basic documentation related to project milestones and tasks.
Site Preparation and Equipment Operation
Prepare project sites by staging materials, setting up tools, and maintaining organized and efficient work areas.
Operate construction, maintenance, and landscaping equipment as trained and assigned, following all safety procedures.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of work sites, tools, and storage areas.
Team, Volunteer, and Cross-Department Collaboration
Assist in working with volunteer groups on capital projects by helping with task setup, safety guidelines, and workflow support.
Collaborate with staff from other departments to ensure projects support camp operations and guest experience.
Quality, Safety, and Reporting
Perform work in accordance with safety standards, building practices, and project specifications.
Identify and report issues, delays, or concerns to the Capital Projects Manager.
Provide regular updates on assigned tasks and contribute to continuous improvement of project processes.
General Camp Support
Assist with general facilities and operational support as needed, including event setup, seasonal projects, and guest support.
Actively participate in Camp Eagle community life and support its mission, values, and team culture.

Qualifications and Skills
Strong work ethic with a willingness to learn and grow in construction, facilities, and project work.
Basic familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and job-site safety practices (experience preferred but not required).
Ability to follow direction, work as part of a team, and take initiative on assigned tasks.
Strong attention to detail, organization, and communication skills.

Physical Demands
Ability to lift and carry materials, perform manual labor, work on uneven terrain, and remain active for extended periods.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Work Environment
This role works primarily outdoors across Camp Eagle’s property on active project sites. The position involves hands-on construction and facilities work, operation of equipment, and occasional indoor or office-based tasks such as planning and reporting. Flexibility and adaptability are essential due to changing project needs and weather conditions.
