Program Director

We are seeking our next Program Director to lead our year around Program Team! This position is integral in carrying out our mission, To know Jesus Christ and to make Christ known to all in providing overall leadership to our strong youth summer camp programming, along with youth/adult retreats throughout the year. Our full time team as an incredible group of leaders who love Jesus and we desire to be a ministry that raises up and develops whole and healthy leaders for the Kingdom! Qualifications
*Disciple of Jesus Christ.
*A leader who demonstrates a consistent life of integrity and humility (1 Timothy 3:1-12 and Titus 1:6-9).
*Embraces Riverside’s Mission, Core Values, and Statement of Faith.
*Committed to the Biblical design for ministry leaders to equip God’s people to do His work (Ephesians 4:11-13).
*3+ years of camp ministry or congregational ministry experience.
*Excellent relational, verbal communication, strategic thinking, and team building skills.
*Passion for camping ministry and understanding of the importance of partnering with the ministry of the local church.
*Comfortable leading and speaking to large groups of people of all ages.

Summer Camp
*Oversee all aspects of summer camp training and programming.
*Have a shepherd’s heart in equipping, leading, encouraging, and pointing summer staff and campers to Jesus in all your interactions with them.
*Work with the year around program team in developing excellent training experiences for our summer staff.
*Develop camp experiences for each week that are age appropriate, excellent, fun, relational, creative, and Christ-centered.
*Give consistent direction to support staff and cabin leaders through daily meetings and communication.
*Equip and encourage Summer Program Directors to lead programming during the summer.

Recruiting
*Oversee all recruiting efforts for Summer Staff, with the assistance of Program Coordinators.
*Travel to colleges and college ministries to recruit summer staff throughout the year.
*Conduct interviews for summer staff, with the assistance of other year around staff.
*Recruit past staff and other volunteers to serve as Cabin Leaders for Fall Recharges.
*Travel to local churches to share about the ministry of Riverside throughout the year.

Other Programming
*Provide overall leadership to our year-round program team, which includes two Program Coordinators (Full Time) and Fall/Spring Ministry Team members (seasonal)
*Provide leadership to other year around youth programming (Fall Recharges, Winter Camp, Spring Blast!)
*With our whole full-time staff, carry out other programming such as Family Events and Adult Ministry retreats.

Other
*Carry out other duties as needed to support the ministry of Riverside*

COMPENSATION/COMMITMENT
*This is a salaried, on-camp (not remote) position. The position is full-time but hours and days worked may vary depending on season. The hours include variety of weekends throughout the year.
*Monthly DAWG day (Day Alone With God) September through May, one 24-48 silent retreat annually (in lieu of that month's DAWG day), and time set aside for mentor/discipler as part of the work week
*Generous holiday paid time off in addition to two weeks of paid vacation, sick time.
*Health insurance is available through Riverside group plan (Blue Cross Blue Shield), family or individual, some cost to employee.
*Flexible Spending Account (FSA) benefit - set aside pre-tax dollars that helps pay for qualified medical and dependent care expenses.
*Employer match contribution of up to 3% into Thrivent IRA.
*Professional development and networking (conferences, regional gatherings) through Christian Camp and Conference Association.
*Housing available if needed. Reasonable rent is paid to camp via payroll deduction according to employee’s preference (deducted once per month, every other week, etc.)
