Job Purpose The Projects Technician supports the execution of capital improvement projects across Camp Eagle’s facilities. Working under the direction of the Capital Projects Manager, this role is responsible for assisting in facility upgrades, renovations, and maintenance to ensure a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for guests. This hands-on position plays a vital role in upholding the quality and mission-driven impact of Camp Eagle’s physical spaces.
Primary Responsibilities Project Implementation and Support - Assist with the execution of capital projects, including construction, renovations, and facility upgrades.
- Help manage materials, tools, and site logistics in collaboration with the maintenance team.
- Support the tracking and documentation of project progress and milestones.
Site Preparation and Equipment Operation - Prepare job sites by clearing areas, staging materials, and setting up tools and equipment.
- Operate basic tools and equipment under supervision, following safety protocols.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free workspace.
Collaboration and Volunteer Support - Help coordinate volunteer work groups, including setup, orientation, and task support.
- Work with other departments to ensure projects align with program needs and enhance guest experience.
Quality Control and Reporting - Monitor work areas to ensure progress aligns with project standards and timelines.
- Report updates, challenges, and suggestions for improvement to the Capital Projects Manager.
General Camp Support - Assist with general facility upkeep, event setup, and guest support as needed.
- Actively participate in the Camp Eagle community, supporting the mission through service and presence.
Qualifications and Skills - A strong work ethic and willingness to learn on the job
- Basic knowledge of hand tools, construction methods, and safety practices (experience preferred but not required)
- Good communication skills and ability to work well with others
- Attention to detail, organization, and a proactive attitude
Physical Requirements - Must be able to lift and carry heavy materials
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to perform physically demanding tasks for extended periods
Work Environment The Projects Technician works primarily outdoors on active project sites throughout Camp Eagle. The role involves collaboration with staff, volunteers, and contractors and requires adaptability to weather, changing priorities, and physical labor. Occasional office and computer-based work may also be required.
