We currently have openings for:
Camp Executive Director: This role involves working specifically with campers from elementary to high school ages, while directly overseeing both full-time staff and college-aged seasonal staff.
Summary
The Camp Executive Director will take on a hands-on role to develop and implement engaging programs for campers, while mentoring and guiding college-aged staff to become the next generation of Christian leaders. This role also includes recruiting outstanding summer staff and counselors. The ideal candidate is a relational, creative individual who is eager to be actively involved in programming and enhancing the camper experience. While there are specific management responsibilities, this position is highly collaborative, allowing the freedom to recruit and empower seasonal staff to create a cohesive summer camp program. Essential Job Functions
The following key responsibilities will be undertaken by the Summer Camp Executive Director:
Program Development:
Serve as the Spiritual Leader and Mentor for both staff and campers during crucial moments of camp life.
Participate in Event & Program planning (large group games, skits, Bible studies, etc.).
Maintain program supplies and systems.
Ensure compliance with all safety standards, particularly concerning child protection.
Foster a positive work environment for summer staff.
Schedule team meetings, retreats, and events.
Supervise and manage key summer leadership positions, including conducting one-on-ones and end-of-summer evaluations.
Oversee seasonal staff.
Recruiting:
Collaborate with the board to organize recruiting efforts.
Seek out opportunities to connect at camp fairs, career fairs, and build relationships with ministries, universities, and non-profits.
Follow up on leads generated through recruiting activities.
Connect with summer staff for future recruitment.
Keep accurate and up-to-date records of recruitment activities and candidate information using appropriate tools.
Interview and hire designated summer staff to meet hiring goals.
Board & Governance:
Act as the primary liaison between the Board and staff.
Provide monthly written reports on finances, operations, and program updates.
Attend all Board meetings, collaborating with the Board President on agendas and priorities.
Support healthy governance by providing the Board with clear information and recommendations.
Commit to ongoing leadership and spiritual growth through workshops and certifications.
Maintain active membership in CCCA, attending regional and national events as possible.
Financial Leadership:
Collaborate with the Board Finance Committee to ensure the health of the annual budget.
Oversee the stewardship of resources, monitoring performance and needs.
Lead long-term financial planning, including sustainability and growth initiatives.
Facilities & Projects:
Oversee long-range planning for facilities in collaboration with Board committees.
Prioritize major maintenance projects.
Work with staff, volunteers, and board members on grant proposals and partnerships.
Compliance & Ethics:
Ensure compliance with all legal, safety, and ethical standards.
Safeguard the integrity, reputation, and Christ-centered mission of CrossView.
Qualifications
To successfully perform this job, candidates must meet the following requirements:
Exhibit deep personal faith, active involvement in the Christian community, and the ability to share the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Have a passion for CrossView’s mission and a capacity to integrate into its culture.
Demonstrate a track record of delivering results through high-performance teams, with a willingness to commit to ministry and a salary commensurate with nonprofit work.
Possess experience working at all staff levels, with the ability to build trust and relationships.
Show excellent project management and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across all organizational levels.
Be a strategic thinker who thrives in fast-paced environments and can make informed decisions quickly.
Be creative and results-oriented, capable of setting and using goals that guide actions and measure performance objectively.
Cultivate healthy relationships, maintain strong family ties, and extend gracious hospitality to a diverse demographic.
Be able to reside and work in the vicinity of CrossView year-round.
Be willing to travel for recruiting, training, and staff retreats and work extended hours during the summer.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This role includes supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, which encompass training employees, planning and directing work, evaluating performance, rewarding and disciplining staff, and addressing complaints.
Education and/or Experience
A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college or technical school, or related experience and/or training, or a combination of education and experience. Strong experience in camp programming, high organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects are essential. The candidate must effectively lead college-age staff while actively participating as part of the year-round CrossView Team.
Language Skills
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals. Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence. Capable of effectively speaking before groups of customers or employees.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, as well as applying basic algebra and geometry concepts.
Interpersonal Skills
Strong relational and interpersonal skills are crucial for this role. The ability to manage emotions during discussions with campers, camper parents, and staff is important in guiding conversations to a successful outcome.
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form, and to address problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Time Management Ability
Ability to effectively manage personal time with great attention to detail, demonstrating initiative and functioning as a self-starter.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, use hands and fingers, reach with arms, and communicate. Occasional standing and walking are required. The employee may need to lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Specific vision abilities required include close and distance vision. Work Environment
This position involves shared office space, necessitating collaboration and interaction with colleagues. Some responsibilities may require outdoor work. Remote work options are limited, emphasizing the importance of on-site presence for key responsibilities. Travel for recruiting is expected.
