Food services manager

Job Summary
The Food Service Manager plays a crucial role in overseeing the daily operations of our food service establishment. This position requires a dynamic leader who can ensure exceptional customer service, maintain food safety standards, and manage staff effectively. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food management and a passion for delivering high-quality dining experiences.
Position requires full time food service form May thru August, doing rest of year, food service s will be as needed for retreats etc. During the off season (Sept thru April) time will be spent doing other duties as assigned

Duties

Oversee all aspects of food preparation and service to ensure quality and consistency. Manage inventory control, including ordering supplies and tracking stock levels. Supervise kitchen operations, ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations. Train and develop staff in food handling, cooking techniques, and customer service skills.Implement effective cash handling procedures and manage POS systems (Aloha POS, Micros POS). Develop budgets and monitor financial performance to ensure profitability. Foster a positive work environment through effective team management and leadership. Ensure compliance with food safety standards and regulations at all times. Collaborate with other departments for catering events, banquets, or special functions. Summer Camp meal planning and executing.

Skills
Proven experience in food service management within quick service, fast food, or casual dining environments. Strong culinary experience with knowledge of cooking techniques and food production methods. Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team. Proficient in inventory control and budgeting practices within the food industry. Experience with restaurant management software (Aloha POS, Micros POS) is highly desirable, but not required
Strong customer service orientation with an emphasis on delivering exceptional dining experiences. Background in hospitality management or hotel experience is a plus. Ability to train staff effectively in both operational procedures and customer interaction skills.
Familiarity with fine dining standards as well as banquet and catering operations is beneficial. This position requires an individual who is dedicated to excellence in the food service industry while fostering a collaborative team atmosphere that prioritizes guest satisfaction. Children's summer camp experience desirable Experience planning, cooking and ordering for large reservation groups and children camps.
