Assistant Food Service Manager
Assistant Food Service Manager: The Food Service Department plays a vital role in creating a pleasant and memorable experience for our guest groups and campers. We are looking for an Assistant Food Service Manager to join our staff. This position will require an individual with a strong and growing relationship with Jesus, and the ability and desire to share the love of Jesus through their service in the Food Service Department. This is a full-time, working supervisory position with a competitive wage, benefit package, and on-site housing available. On-site housing including all utilities except Wi-Fi. The Assistant Manager will be expected to live on-site while being available to work weekends and holidays as guest group needs require. The Assistant Food Service Manager will report to the Food Service Manager.
Responsibilities: • Assist in all aspects of Food Service operations including but not limited to meal planning, preparation, and service of all groups • Assist in the training and management of all kitchen staff and volunteers • Ability to place, inventory, and rotate order into stock as needed • Assist in the development of seasonal menus • Ensure all Food Service facilities and equipment are being maintained in superior condition and meet sanitation standards • Implement proper food storage, rotation, preservation, and safety practices in compliance with all local and state regulations • Prepare for and pass government inspections related to food safety and cleanliness • Ensure the delivery of balanced meals on time, at the right temperature, and in appropriate quantities • Other tasks as required by Food Service Manager and Camp Director Requirements: • Ability to demonstrate safe use of all kitchen equipment including but not limited to knives, industrial mixers, ovens, grills, warmers, dish sanitizers, and smokers • Hold a Serve Safe Manager certificate or Thurston County equivalent or ability to obtain one • Ability to lead Food Service staff to prepare and cook for a wide range of group sizes including high-capacity events • Ability to effectively multitask while upholding Food Service standards • Show a strong work ethic and ability to lead others without guidance • Hold a high degree of integrity • Over the age of 21 and hold a valid Washington driver’s license • Keep a pleasant and professional attitude while in high stress situations • Agreeable to a local, state, and federal background check
