CAMP DIRECTOR Reports to: Director of Operations
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Barefoot Republic Camp (BRC) Camp Director oversees the operations of all programs including residential camp, day camp, family camp and winter camp. This position will also work with the Executive Team to ensure that BRC’s mission and operational goals are being met.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the direct management of all program coordinators, camp operations oversight, camp program and process development, organizational partnership & relationship building, alumni development, tracking program impact and other responsibilities as outlined below.
This position requires a long term commitment to the development of BRC with a desire and expectation for onsite leadership during BRC sessions. This position requires high energy, spiritual maturity, flexible availability, servant’s heart and a positive and enthusiastic attitude.
This will be a full time position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and include annual growth incentives along with health, dental, vision and paid time off benefits.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Camp Programming -Oversees all aspects of the various residential programs to ensure that ministry goals are being met with a special emphasis on spiritual formation and growth. -Oversees the preparation of all camp curriculum including camp schedules, team building curriculum and Bible study curriculum. -Oversees the camp inventory, program supplies, setup and maintenance of all camp related supplies, snacks and equipment. -During camp sessions, works in conjunction with the Residential Program Coordinator to assist with the coordination of all staff and guest schedules, Republic assignments, class assignments and logistics. -Responsible for communicating and assisting parents or others who may have questions or needs that arise in conjunction with our programs.
Camper & Staff Recruitment -Oversees the recruitment and training of summer staff and volunteers including the identification of staff sources and the presentation of camper and staff opportunities. -Oversees staff interviews, background checks and reference checks. -Oversees camper recruitment from all demographics including the cultivation of strategic organizational partners. -Responsible for utilizing and maintaining camp metrics and scorecards. Camp Staff Management -Responsible for tracking & placement of residential camp staff. -Leads staff training & supervision during camp sessions. -Works to develop a program for staff care during the summer and retention for future camp sessions. -Develops strategies for ongoing cultivation and creates opportunities for alumni to reunite throughout the year.
Bridge Program (9 month gap year and discipleship program) -Oversees all aspects of the program, schedule, curriculum and classes including orientation, work-study, trips, instructors and graduation. -Responsible for all aspects of student recruitment.

EXPERIENCE: -Strong business acumen skills. -Advanced proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Publisher and Visio. -Experience with CRMs is a plus.
PHYSICAL AND/OR MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: -Able to sit at and work on a computer for extended periods. -Able to lift 20 pounds and reach/bend to retrieve documents in cabinets and on shelves.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: -Office environment and offsite outdoor camp environment. -Willing to work additional hours as needed to ensure responsibilities are met. -Willing to work offsite in support of camp programs and other initiatives.
