JOB TITLE: Adelphia Dean of Men PAY: $20.00-$22.00/hour, DOE REPORTS TO: Adelphia Program Director CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt, Full Time
JOB SUMMARY: To model the life of a mature and growing believer and exemplify submission to the Word of God in both professional and private life. The Dean of Men would provide Christ-centered mentorship in the areas of dorm life, student life, and work internship to maximize the student experience and cultivate an intentional community. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: • Mentoring young men as disciples of Jesus • Meet with 1-2 students one on one every week • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate biblical truth • Bi-weekly student life event planning and participation • Manage student life budget including but not limited to event spending and RA allowances • Oversee dorm facilities and other student life spaces • Assisting in dorm/student life conflict • Act as liaison between Adelphia students and Lake Retreat staff • Conducting student work evaluations • Limited but regular participation in student work-study in areas of kitchen, housekeeping, light maintenance/grounds and other generic camp responsibilities • Working in a Christian camp ministry environment • Oversee the Resident Assistant (RA) training and program • Model hospitality by hosting weekly family group dinners • Being available for student physical, emotional, and spiritual needs as they arise • Communicate with the program director all pertinent student information • Assisting in holding students accountable to handbook policies and procedures • Other duties as assigned SKILL & ABILITIES: • Ability to work independently and with a team, required • Must have the heart to care for and mentor Adelphia students, required • Must be a born again Christian and seeking to grow in their Christian faith, character, and the knowledge of God, required • Flexible mindset and willingness to learn, required • Models and communicates a positive belief in the importance of Christian camp ministries, required • Ability to clearly and effectively communicate biblical truth, required • Ability to use a computer including Microsoft Office products, required • Ability to organize budget., required • Ability to drive larger vehicles including a 12-passenger van, required
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: • High School diploma or equivalent, required • 1+ year(s) of formal biblical training or ministry experience, preferred
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Outdoor and indoor working environment
