About Camp Merri-Mac
Camp Merri-Mac is a Christian, girls summer camp based in Black Mountain, NC that has been operating for 80 years. Merri-Mac sits on roughly 130 acres full of cabins, activity areas, trails, and a lake that are maintained year-round. Our mission is for campers to experience the Gospel through friends and adventure. We are seeking a Maintenance Director to oversee our facilities and property year-round.
Together with the Camp Timberlake and Black Mountain Expeditions, we have a strong team culture with a shared mission and pooled resources. We are an energetic and fun office with a year-round staff of about ten who work together very closely.

Off-Season Responsibilities (October - May)
? Maintenance, repair, and upkeep of camp buildings and program areas
? Winterizing and un-winterizing buildings (including draining water from cabins)
? Managing relationships and contracts with subcontractors as needed
? Hire a team of 3 - 5 employees to assist in summer maintenance responsibilities

Summer Responsibilities (June - September)
? Maintenance, repair, and upkeep of camp buildings and program areas
? Manage a team of 3-5 employees
? Managing relationships and contracts with subcontractors as needed
? Event and program set up and breakdown
? Trash Runs - after each meal and around-camp runs
? Upkeep of the “honey do list” where staff inventory maintenance needs in their cabins and program areas as they arise

Most Qualified Candidates Will Have
? Three years maintenance or handyman experience
? Proven experience hiring and managing staff
? Bachelor’s degree preferred
? Comfort in outdoor adventure settings
