Maintenance

Maintenance:
Help maintain all buildings. Assist in all repairs. Manage or do building projects. Work with Executive Director to help keep camp expenses low. Check heating equipment in each main building bi-weekly. Check water systems. Work to keep all roads plowed in winter. Work roads in spring to re-fil ruts and potholes. Grade as possible in spring. Vehicle maintenance as needed; oil changes, truck cleaned, etc. Light heaters before guest groups arrive to ensure cabins are heated and comfortable. Work with Executive Director on scheduling. Water softener checks.
Areas of needed experience: Plumbing (sewer line maintenance, water line winterization, etc.), Electrical (basic electrical), mechanical (basic mechanical – we try to have professionals that come with W&W teams do larger project issues), building /project management (help manage work teams in the summer) help with projects in the winter. Equipment operation (operate Bobcat and all attachments, operate John Deere tractor (box blade, loader, brush hog), lawn mower, hand tools.
Assist in group set up (tables, chairs, etc.). Help set up gym for group usage. Garbage checks, lights on in winter, gates open and closed, turn everything off after groups leave. Help with running pumps for obstacle course. Weed eating. Lawn maintenance (mow, seed, etc.). May need to help with serving in the dining hall. Assist in clean up after groups leave.
Must be able to lift 50 lbs. Must be able to work as a team member. We usually help with whatever area needs help. Summer workdays are longer due to more groups and group size. Winter days are shorter and vary. We try to have 2 days off per week in the winter. Summertime will vary with group needs.
Time:
Winter hours are from 10 am – 4 pm when no groups are on property. When groups are here, we start at 15 minutes prior to 1st meal of the day. We may work thru the weekends. Usually, we try to have Monday and Tuesday off. Off hours after cleaning up after dinner. There may be some down time between meals.
Summer hours are 9 am to 5 pm when no groups are here. When we have groups, start time is 15 minutes prior to first meal of the day. Off hours will vary with groups times. When we have enough staff to cover all the group needs, the hours will become more stable. There may be down time between meals. John will cover the late night/ after-hours calls.

Benefit Package/ Compensation:
Salary: Starting Salary $18,000 per year. We are trying to get the salary up to industry standards. The other camps in the state require staff to raise their own support including utilities, housing, and salary.
Christmas Bonus: $500 Christmas Bonus
Housing/ Utilities: The camp provides staff housing, currently the staff trailer. We are working on a 2-bedroom apartment. Our goal is to remove the trailer and build a tri-plex of 3-bedroom units with a single car garage. The camp provides for the electrical, natural gas, garbage, water/sewer, and internet service.
Annual Leave: 2 weeks paid until the 5 year of service mark. Vacation time needs to be scheduled with Executive Director. We prefer to have this in the retreat season rather than the summer.

Staff Job Descriptions
Office/ Accountant
Accounting:
Pay bills, deposit and track group fees, earned income, donations, and other revenue. Maintain the quick books accounting software program. Prepare and report financials to the board on a regular basis (currently monthly). Assist the Executive Director with budgeting for each year as well as tracking progress monthly. Assist with Ultracamp online registration system, transactions, and reporting. Reconcile Ultracamp with 1st National bank account. Assist in answering phones and general office duties.
Grant Writing:
Assist the Executive Director with Grant Writing including searching for & applying for grants and reporting back to foundations. Attend CCCA grant writing, and donor development classes online. Track funds used from grants.
Additional Areas:
Assist in serving guests where needed: food service or guest services. Help serve meals. Assist in cleanup as needed.

Must be able to operate Quick Books, basic computer including outlook, google suite, HTML is a plus (Ultracamp program). Must be organized, work well with other staff as well as be able to work on your own. Team player! Must feel called to camp ministry.
Other helpful work experience: barista experience is a plus, food services, housekeeping, enjoy outdoor activity.

Benefit Package/ Compensation:
Currently, we do not have income to sustain paying this position. The salary offer is $18,000 per year. We are very hopeful that with sustained group increased usage as well as adding more grant income this position will become a full time pay position very quickly.
Christmas Bonus: $500.00 paid out during November.
Annual Leave: 2 weeks paid annual leave until the 5 year of service mark is reached. Schedule leave with the Executive Director. We prefer that leave is taken in the retreat season rather than the summer season.

We are currently constructing a 2-bedroom 1 bath apartment for staff housing that is approximately 1000 square feet. (Almost completed)
