SPRUCE LAKE MINISTRIES is a dual-site Christian conference, retreat and youth ministry center in the Pocono Mountains of northeast Pennsylvania. Both sites are conveniently located near major interstates from New York City, Philadelphia, New Jersey and Delaware.
- The Spruce Lake site, founded in 1963, is located on 888 forested acres near Canadensis, PA. The Retreat Center is the wheelchair-accessible hub for groups, families, and programmed retreats with varied accommodations from deluxe rooms with private bath to dorm-style rooms with central baths to the Family Campground. The Mountainside Lodges area offers five self-contained houses in peaceful locations. At the Wilderness Camp area is the multi-use Mountain View Gym plus chalet and bunkhouse cabins. There are plenty of things to do outside and inside any time of year. Enjoy over 8 miles of walking paths and woodland trails with waterfalls and a mountaintop vista. Play pickleball, basketball, volleyball and tennis, or mini-golf, disc golf and gaga. Go swimming in the heated pool, snowtubing, snowshoeing and more! Day Camp and Overnight Wilderness Camps run mid-June through mid-August for ages five through 18. Outdoor Education is offered for Christian schools in the spring and fall. Specialty retreats -- for men, couples, women, pastors and worship leaders, families - run throughout the year. Guest groups may reserve guided Adventure Activities, ideal for teambuilding, that include zip lines, challenge initiatives, and climbing elements. Visit or call 800-822-7505 for more information.
- The Pinebrook site, originating in 1933, is located just outside Stroudsburg and East Stroudsburg, PA, on 134 peaceful acres. Spruce Lake acquired the Pinebrook site in 2018. There is lodging for groups of up to 462 people in six buildings with private rooms and three self-contained lodges; some areas are wheelchair-accessible. Pinebrook is home to a thriving Day Camp program for children ages 5-15. They also host several annual disc golf tournaments on their highly rated 18-hole course. Other recreation includes an indoor and outdoor pool, pickleball, basketball, volleyball and softball.
