Program and Internship Director

The Program and Intern Director will be responsible to develop camp staff and interns while promoting Miracle Ranch to churches, parachurches, and non-profit organizations. This innovative leader will pursue new and returning camp business through various means of in person meetings, phone calls, emails, and work in conjunction with the camps leadership team to build direct ministry programs and guest group partnerships. In addition, the Program Director is responsible for building outstanding intern leadership curriculum which will enhance the spiritual growth, build character, and provide a rich foundation to help camp interns form a strong connection between faith and vocation. The specific areas of ministry will mainly include, but are not limited to, summer camp staff and guest service management, managing non-summer youth programs, and guest group services and hospitality hosting. Our Program Director will also strive for opportunities to connect miracle ranch camp to our sister CRISTA ministries Kings Schools, World Concern, Senior Living, and Media.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

DUTIES

Christ Centered Leadership:

Provide quality programs for summer camp, non-summer programs and guest groups by:
-Develop vision, purpose and evaluation of the program for all guests in coordination with CRISTA leadership.
-Assist with camper discipline problems.
-Organize staff meetings and fireside messages.
-Plan and implement program themes, schedules, organization, and procedures.
-Develop and coordinate summer staff training materials and hiring paperwork.
-Plan, coordinate, and run all aspects of the annual Summer Staff Reunion, High School Weekend, WIT/LIT Parent Dinner, and Summer Mission Teams.
-Visit schools and churches for the purpose of summer staff and camper recruiting.
-Supervise and inspire staff to servant leadership.
-Assist in guest group communication before, during, and after camp experience as needed with guest groups.
-Spiritual leader of intern program.
-Foster interns into highly effective leaders and oversee mentoring programs.
-Responsible for fiscal management of intern program and achieving annual budget.
-Develop effective processes for identifying, recruiting, and interviewing excellent interns and summer staff.

Staff Management and Development:
-Coordinate training of summer staff.
-Manage the intern and summer staff assignment schedule in conjunction with the Program team and the Executive Director.
-Manage the ropes course, paintball and waterfront programs (summer and year-round) which includes but is not limited to:
-Hiring seasonal staff.
-Proper maintenance of ropes course, paintball field and equipment.
-Maintaining inventory of equipment and ordering supplies as needed.
-Replacing old or worn-out equipment.
-Storing all equipment in an orderly manner.
-Overseeing the condition of the ropes course and develop new elements as necessary and available.
-Overseeing the usage of the paintball equipment and field and handling programs as they arise.
-Train and supervise all activities and schedule yearly inspections.
-Coordinate with Accredited Professional Vendor Member (PVM) of Association of Challenge Course Technologies (ACCT) for annual course inspection and Level 1 and 2 staff trainings.
-Coach staff on proper and efficient ways on how to teach rope, paintball and waterfront classes to others.
-Schedule, manage and evaluate the Outdoor Education Program and guest needs.

Manage the activity class program (summer) which includes but is not limited to:
-Maintaining proper inventory of supplies.
-Ordering new supplies.
-Assigning campers and staff to classes.
-Training of staff to teach classes.
-Overseeing the usage of the program closet and the crafts barn and handling problems as they arise.
-Work collaboratively with supervisor, coworkers, staff and guests & perform other duties as assigned.
