Job Summary:
The Canopy Tour Sweep Guide (or "Sweep" for short) is the entry-level guide position. Nevertheless, Sweeps are vital and multi-faceted within the team. Sweep Guides send guests from platforms. Sweeps act as the "rear book-end" of the tour and assist the objectives of Lead Guides within the tour. Sweeps are charged with the consistent delivery of world-class customer service to guests while Zip-Lining between platforms in trees at speeds of up to 30mph and heights of up to 200ft off the ground.
Primary responsibilities may include (but are not limited to) accomplishing Recreational, Educational, Spiritual, and Social objectives while ensuring guest safety throughout. Guides also participate in daily inspections and cataloguing of the course and the equipment used (helmets, harnesses, and other hardware), and monthly all-team meetings. Guides must also be able to work as Ground Support, as well as be open to miscellaneous job-related projects when necessary.
Summary of Essential Job Functions:
-Complete and Pass a 3rd party, 6-Day, training week (Attendance is REQUIRED all day each day, no exceptions)
-Behave in a professional manner at all times
-Manage risk at all times, taking responsibility for personal safety and the safety of others
-Engage Canopy Tour guests and staff with a good sense of humor and cooperative attitude
-Make guests feel respected, valued, and cared for
-Participate in pre-screening guests
-Ensure guests are properly fitted in gear and oriented to zip lining
-Assist lead guides with pre-tour and post-tour set-up and clean-up
-Perform Opening and Closing duties
-Regularly inspect facilities for cleanliness and readiness for guest use
-Participate in rescue scenarios training and actual guest rescues
-Attend regular monthly information and training meetings
-Arrive at least 5 minutes prior to shifts ready to work as scheduled
-Drive guest shuttles
-Be able and willing to perform miscellaneous projects, esp. on slow days
Minimum Requirements:
-Fully embrace the Alliance Redwoods Conference Grounds statement of faith and code of conduct and be supportive of Alliance Redwoods mission to be a place of renewal where our guests meet the Creator in His Creation. As an organized camp we are a facility established for the purpose of providing an outdoor experience with social, spiritual, educational, and recreational objectives. -High School Graduate
-Current Driver's License & Clean Driving Record
-Current CPR and First Aid Certifications
-Speaks fluent English, and uses cordial manners. (Additional languages a plus)
-Computer Competency & a working e-mail address. (Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook a plus)
-Maintains a professional appearance and dress attire that reflects SCT and ARCG standards
-Must be energetic, enthusiastic, self motivated, and extremely punctual
-Must be available on weekends
-Pass background check

Abilities Required:
-Work at heights up to and over 200ft off the ground
-Work long hours (up to 10 hours) outdoors in all weather conditions. (Heat, Cold, Wind, and/or Rain)
-Hike 100 yards uphill without assistance
-Lift and carry loads of up to 50lbs a distance of 50 yards over uneven terrain
-Wear a helmet, harness, and gloves, and follow rescue procedures and processes (training is provided)
