Chief Executive Officer

Our CEO will oversee operations for the organisation with a primary focus on strategic planning, governance, development and fundraising.

Full Position Description:

POSITION: Chief Executive Officer
LOCATION: Camp located in Rindge, NH; Flexibility to work from remote New England location
REPORTS TO: Board of Directors
REPORTING TO THIS POSITION:
Chief Operating Officer
Director of Communications/Marketing (position to be created)
Director of Development (position to be created)
Financial Manager (position to be created)

RESPONSIBILITIES
Strategic Planning and Governance
- Responsible for the operations of the organization while promoting engagement and open communication with the Board of Directors
- Create formal business plans and capital project budgets, developed in collaboration with the Board of Directors and Chief Operating Officer, in keeping with Toah Nipi’s established Mission and Vision
- Communicate effectively with the Board and senior management providing key data on fund development and financial matters supporting operational and strategic decisions
- Provide analysis and reports to Board on camp operations, fund development, and
financial performance impacting strategic and capital plan targets and goals

Development/Fundraising
- Serve as fund development liaison to the Board; provide donor performance updates and report progress of all planned events supporting funding goals
- Meet aggressive capital campaign and annual fundraising goals in partnership with the Board, by securing financial support from foundations, corporations, individual donors, and government funding sources
- Work with marketing and development staff on execution of capital campaigns and
annual fundraising activities. Oversee messaging consistency of external
communications, including website, marketing collateral, newsletters, and social media
- Serve as the face of the organization and participate in external events to increase
visibility, credibility, and communication of market brand and Toah Nipi mission
- Support growth of strategic partnerships by identifying and cultivating relationships with current and potential donors while fostering expanded facility utilization
- Establish a sophisticated donor database to enhance communication and awareness of fundraising campaigns and giving opportunities
- Build and lead an effective strategic operational team dedicated to achieving Toah Nipi’s mission and fundraising targets

Financial Oversight
- Oversee annual budgeting with scheduled reporting to the Board
- Create and implement actionable financial programs and systems to optimize utilization of funds received via development programs, long term pledges and cash from ongoing operations.
- Utilize financial results and projections to build multi-year strategic plans that support
capital campaigns and Toah Nipi growth objectives
- Ensure compliance with non-profit accounting and regulatory standards

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in business, marketing, fundraising or finance
- Ten or more years of experience in senior management with a non-profit organization; experience with Christian camping highly valued
- Proven organizational leadership and management abilities for developing and
implementing visionary strategy
- Strategic, analytical, and operational thinker; creative problem-solver
- Excellent project management and communications skills with the ability to work across all functions and levels of an organization
- Proven experience in successful fundraising, both annual giving and capital campaigns
- Familiarity with ECFA, non-profit finance/accounting regulations and complex gift
processing systems
- Knowledge and understanding of the critical nuances in hospitality, camping
and event management operations
- Dynamic and charismatic team player who enjoys being the public face of an
organization while actively developing and advancing team members
- Highly proficient in oral and written communications
- Ability to relate to pastors, students, faculty and families from a wide demographic of diverse ethnicity, religious affiliation, age, and lifestyles

PERSONAL REQUIREMENTS
- Strong spiritual life and devotion to Christ with comfortability and experience sharing personal testimony in a variety of venues

*BACKGROUND NOTE: Toah Nipi Christian Retreat Center is a 200-bed camping/retreat facility that has been fully operational for over 40 years. The current COO has been leading the center for over 20 years and is expected to continue in that role. Incremental additions and upgrades have been made to accommodate growing program demand. Toah Nipi has been run at an operational breakeven level with a positive cash flow during these years with the exception of 2020 due to the COVID epidemic. In 2024, the center became an independent 501(c)(3) organization with new growth Mission and Vision statements.
