Camp Administrator/Director

Camp Zephyr is looking for an experienced Administrator/Director to professionally lead, maintain, improve and expand the ministry of our beautiful camp and retreat center in South Texas. The facility is located on lovely Lake Corpus Christi – 45 miles northwest of Corpus Christi and 110 miles south of San Antonio. Zephyr’s 150-acre property includes a lodge with 39 hotel rooms, 24 dorms and 12 meeting spaces that range in capacity for 25 to 650 guests.

Our goal is to provide an environment that encourages development in spiritual, intellectual, emotional, social, and physical areas. We desire for each person who comes through our gates to feel the love of Christ through friendly service, well-maintained facilities, quality meals and attention to detail. We are searching for a motivated team player with a “can do” attitude to advance our year-round operations. The position is a full-time, salaried position that includes health insurance and a retirement package.

The successful candidate will possess the following skills, experience, and attributes:
• Be a mature, committed, evangelical Christian with strong interest in children and youth.
• Be in substantial agreement with our camp statement of faith.
• Be an active member with regular attendance at a local evangelical church.
• Demonstrate knowledge of leadership techniques.
• Have a bachelor’s degree in some field related to camp management or a work background that shows skills in finance, budgeting, organization and personnel management.
• Have knowledge in camp management and safety practices including State Board of Health, ACA and CCCA standards.
• Be physically able to do the job described.
• Is committed to carry out the instructions and guidelines of the Board of Trustees.
• Have a drive and desire to sharpen his/her spiritual growth, communication, camping and business skills.
• Have a visionary approach to the expansion of this ministry.

Areas of Responsibilities:
• The Administrator/Director will report to the Board of Trustees via the Board President. He or she will be responsible for the day-to-day oversite of Camp Zephyr by:
• Managing the development and running of a safe, successful Christian camp and retreat program with an effective evangelistic ministry aimed at children, youth and adults in conformity with the organization’s statement of faith.
• Developing programs and facilities that attract campers for the summer, and organizations/groups for the retreat season.
• Explore ways the organization’s ministry can be expanded.
• Conduct all operations within budgeted financial limits.
