Food Service Director
Purpose: The Food Service Director is a critical role that impacts the guest experience for practically each guest that visits Miracle Bible Camp. We can serve just over 100 guests in our Dining Hall. The primary purpose is to serve each guest a high quality meal while keeping expenses down. A secondary purpose is to train young volunteers and kitchen staff to serve with excellence, and help develop a Christ-centered work ethic.

Qualifications:
Has a sincere love for the Lord and a desire to see campers come to know and grow in Him.
Agrees with Miracle Bible Camp’s statement of faith, philosophy and polices.
Is eager to learn, loves campers, and shows a consistent walk with God.
Experience in a camp or institutional food-service setting.
Currently holds or is willing to obtain and maintain a State of Minnesota Food Manager Certification.
Believes that a major spiritual gift he/she possesses is hospitality.
Has a self-starter work ethic and desires personal growth
Ability to manage or lead a variety of tasks and persons at once.
Demonstrates a servant leaderships style.
Responsibilities:
Be a positive witness for Jesus Christ in all words and actions. Share Christ’s love with the public, campers and staff to reflect favorably upon the Lord and Miracle Bible Camp.
Develop a Christ – like, servant atmosphere in the work area.
Plan, direct and supervise Miracle Bible Camp’s food service
Perform / supervise the activities of the lead cook, & other food service personnel.
Plan menus, approve & receive food orders and store in safe manner meeting current Minnesota Health Department codes. Including camp store items.
Develop and communicate
Train and supervise food service personnel.
Ensure that all preparation of food is done in a timely, tasty, and safe manner.
Ensure that the clean-up and dishwashing program is done in a manner consistent with Minnesota Health Department codes.
Coordinate food service with administrative and or program staff to best meet guests’ needs.
Responsible for budget planning and control for effective operation of Miracle Bible Camp.
Pursue continuing education in food service, including CCCA events and Minnesota Health Department certifications.
Prepare schedules for kitchen staff, volunteers, and teen volunteers working with the director, program director, facilities director, and other camp schedules.
Skills:
Ability to use Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Able to lift cases of food
Ability to be on your feet most of the day.
Communicate clearly using written and spoken English
Time:
Full-Time with some overtime during the summer months. Part-time, mostly weekends, during the fall, winter, and spring.
Work Environment:
Small Christian camp community with approximately 4 year-round staff with 10 seasonal summer staff. Much of the work is indoors and may include other aspects of camp hospitality including housekeeping. You will be working closely with others in interpersonal relationships. Practicing Christian principles of humility, patience, truth telling, forgiveness will be critical for maintaining healthy working relationships. You will be working closely with a team of people to serve guests.
Community:
Camp is between Longville and Hackensack, Minnesota. We are in a rural area, tourist area, and a place where people enjoy retiring. There is often a one-hour drive to find amenities. A 30-minute drive for school options.
Pay: $16 per hour
Housing: Not provided but some temporary solutions can be discussed.
Time: Part-Time Year Round
