Summer Staff Manager
PURPOSE STATEMENT: The purpose of the Summer Staff Manager is to build relationships with past, present and future summer staff.
Position Description: This position is a highly relational role that allows you to pour into our summer team. This person will serve alongside the Tejas team in living out our theme verse, Philippians 2:3 which says “Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility, value others above yourselves.” Furthermore, this position helps fulfill the Tejas mission of setting the stage for Jesus to transform lives. This is accomplished by exemplifying our core values: People: Viewing everyone as an image-bearer of Jesus Service: As a means for sharing the Gospel Adventure: As a relational catalyst, and Safety: as an integral part of People, Service and Adventure. As the Summer Staff Manager you would bring members aboard our team who live this out and help equip them to serve our guests in this way.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Summer Staff Manager Responsibilities Hire and maintain relationships with our summer team as you disciple these future leaders Invest in the emotional, spiritual and relational needs of the summer team Plan engaging team building events Support and provide leadership to the summer team The ideal candidate will exude enthusiasm, provide encouragement, promote staff unity, be a motivator and contribute to a positive staff culture Assist all other departments as needed
Recruiter Responsibilities Oversee and execute recruiting efforts to build the summer team Create community online and recruit through social media Travel to colleges, churches and other ministries to keep past, present and future staff engaged Maintain a relationship with our international program to create a greater mosaic of staff culture Manage the hiring process of the summer team including the CampBrain application software, interviews, reference checks, and general paperwork
QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent industry experience Previous camp experience preferred Flexibility and the ability to respond in grace when unforeseen situations require your assistance Ability to maintain relationships with all guests and staff A thorough knowledge and effective involvement in ministry A desire to grow spiritually and professionally An understanding of hospitality and guest experience Highly relational personality
