We are looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the much-needed role of Summer Programs Sales Specialist. COMMUNITY The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have about 80 people who live on-site year-round, comprised of full-time staff and their families. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
JOB DESCRIPTION Title: Summer Programs Sales Specialist Department: Guest Relationships Reports To: Family Camp Manager
Job Purpose: To increase and maximize the attendance of the high spiritual impact Family and Day Camp programs through phone calls, face to face meetings, email follow ups, text follow ups, unique and aggressive new sales strategies, and most importantly relationship building so that more individuals and families are able to hear, believe in and are encouraged by the Gospel and are then inspired to help their communities know Jesus.
General Responsibilities:
Increase the attendance of both Family Camp and Day Camp
Take primary responsibility for the following: All administrative work given by the Manager Reaching out to existing families and new families to make contact and ask for referrals Trip planning Local event planning Reaching out to organizations and asking for a spot to market Creating, budgeting for, and ordering marketing materials Teaching and training all full time staff who are assisting with the efforts how to be excellent at sales and communicating Communicate with and work closely with any and all third party firms who are helping with lead generation Lead acquisition Lead follow up Conversions Face to face visits, phone calls, emails, texts Marketing Cloud content creation Use of social media to boost registrations Manage individuals who are volunteering to help with marketing All onsite marketing Assist in the following: Hosting Retreats Work projects Maintaining costs and budgets Manage family registrations and metrics using spreadsheets and Salesforce Consistently pray for incoming and returning families and campers and for God’s provision for new families and program needs Register families through Glorieta Camps’ Online Registration Maintain communication and relationships with families through weekly ?emails/updates/devotions/prayer requests Work with Retreat & School groups in the non-summer months, which includes housekeeping, kitchen duties, facilitating activities etc. Communicate and collaborate with other departments to meet the needs of Family and Day Camp Summer Responsibilities Train Summer Staff in job responsibilities and vision for meeting Glorieta Camps’ mission ?within the Family Camp and Day Camp Program including values and customer service skills Develop the spiritual lives of summer staff through Bible studies, prayer, discipleship, group discussions, and group activities Be present and engaged in all aspects of camp during each week of Family Camp and Day Camp to further sales goals Address guest needs and follow guest services training when working with the guests Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed. Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience: The “ideal” candidate will have and demonstrate: Strong sense of hospitality and customer service Passion for sales and cold calls Desire to travel extensively year round Ability to gain, cultivate & nurture, and then close a new family and camper sale Ability to speak well in front of large church congregations Persuasive style that would influence moms and dads to register for camp Clear communication skills face-to-face, over the phone, and through email College Degree or higher is preferred Ability to use technological systems at Camp proficiently Proficient use of Spreadsheets Experience with Salesforce Ability to work long hours with sustained social interactions and high energy levels Ability to confront, encourage, and inspire staff towards excellence in their work Team player mindset in working with other departments Professional communication with guests High level of administrative and organization skills Willingness to be held accountable for all goals and targets being met
Work Context: This job will be performed around half time on location at the Glorieta, New Mexico location and the other half on the road Travel: Will travel extensively through flying and driving to help with recruiting, marketing, networking, fundraising, or workshop training Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in an office, hike, stand all day, be willing to get your hands dirty. Work Environment: Most work will be done in the office, at a desk with the exception of summer when you will be asked to work extended hours in a variety of situations all over camp. Occasionally, you may be asked to help with all-camp projects, including working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year. Training: Employees will be given the opportunity for improvement through appropriate training.
