Job Type: Full-time, Year Round
Salary and Benefits: $36,000 per year or depending on experience
Job Summary: Impact our community by sharing the Gospel and training disciples. This position oversees and directs all herd and barn management, program, facility and staff of the Canyonview Equestrian Center (CEC).
Organization Mission: With a Biblical verse by verse foundation, Canyonview provides a safe outdoor environment, spiritually vibrant programs, & practical leadership training to impact youth, adults, & families in the local community & beyond.
Mission Role: To share the word of truth & love of Christ to every person participating in the equestrian center using the horses as a tool for outreach and discipleship. The Equestrian Manager will train, guide, disciple & teach horsemanship to guests and staff. Guiding staff to work with integrity & share the vision & purpose of the Equestrian Center and Canyonview Ministries.
Job Qualifications and Certifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability.
A love for the Lord and a desire to make Him known to others
Ability to teach verse by verse in context from the Bible
A servant’s heart with a love for others
Strong work ethic with the ability to work with and lead others
Respectful and able to support leadership
Has the Biblical qualifications for a leader (Titus 1:7-9)
Required Master Instructor CHA certification (Both Western/English preferred)
CHA Certifier or Assistant Certifier preferred
CHA Equine Facilities Management Level 2 or prior herd management experience
Horse training experience preferred
Ability to perform physical responsibilities of the job. Standing/walking for multiple hours, lifting 50+ lbs frequently, stooping, crouching, climbing ladders, etc.
Ability to perform job duties in all types of weather
Desire to maintain high professional standards and to continue learning and developing a greater professional capacity
Excellent written, oral and digital communications
Able to read, analyze and report information to leadership and staff members
Ability to act as a unified team member across any department within the ministry
Ability to operate a tractor and a truck/trailer (experience preferred)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Spiritual Leader- Provide spiritual direction, encouragement, accountability & integrity to staff, guests & campers through leadership.
Staff Management- Disciple, train, direct, delegate & evaluate the equestrian staff so that they will manage their guests & staff effectively.
Equestrian Center- Teaches, implements policies & procedures, develops curriculum, guides the administrative staff with recruiting, marketing & advertising.
Camp- Coordinate with the Horsemanship Program Coordinator and instructors in teaching riding, leading campfires, Bible studies, schedule & activities.
Barn Management- Maintain herd health, pasture management, maintenance of stables & ranch buildings and equipment.
CHA Standards- Remain current on all CHA standards for self, site and staff. Fix any infractions within a timely manner to maintain CHA site accreditation.
Herd Management- Coordinate with other leadership and staff on horse selection in regards to donations, purchases, selling & maintaining the health of the herd; vaccines, medical treatment, deworming, & record keeping.
Facility- Coordinate the staff and lead the delegation of responsibility of barn duties, feeding, stall cleaning, fence fixing, maintenance & general upkeep of the facility.
Accountability- Meet with the Equestrian Advisory Board quarterly (or more) to implement evaluation processes on herd, staff & programs. Ensure all programming and instruction meets or exceeds CHA standards and the legacy of Canyonview Ministries.
