Reports to: Program assistant, program coordinator, executive director

Requirements:

Christian

College aged

Must have finished their first year of college (unless otherwise asked by program coordinator)

Hardworking

Perseverant

Interested in working with kids

Team player

Willingness to try new things

Willing to lodge on the Island

Preferences:

Ability to play guitar

Previous leadership experience

Counselors are the face of summer camp operations! They are with the children and families all day long, nurturing their faith and spirit. As a counselor at Lutheran Island Camp, you will get the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone physically, spiritually, and emotionally! After two weeks of training, each counselor will be assigned a cabin group and will lead their campers in a plethora of activities from archery to canoeing, hatchet throwing to the low ropes course. Counselors also lead their campers in Bible study, songs and song actions, and campfire devotions. You will gain a plethora of skills such as leadership and time and people management plus grow in your faith!
