Interim Camp Director
Upper Peninsula Bible Camp is seeking an interim camp director for up to 36 months with the possibility of extending the commitment. The camp director position is a paid, full-time ministry job in Little Lake, MI.
Experience and Qualifications
• Spiritually mature and fruitful Christian. • Demonstrate practical wisdom and spiritual sensitivity. • Effective in working with youth and families. • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in ministry leadership. • Effective team builder with staff and volunteers. • Good listener and effective public speaker in group and one-on-one settings. • Effective change manager. • Able to work well with and under the Board of Trustees.
Responsibilities • Affirm and strengthen the UPBC DNA and Distinctives document. • Plan and manage camp business activities. • Coordinate program, retreat and rental group activities. • Recruit and manage missionaries, adult summer staff, summer interns, activity directors, program staff and other volunteers. • Continue the UPBC legacy and heritage of volunteerism as the primary labor force. • Develop, present to the Board of Trustees, and administer an annual operating budget. • Participate in UPBC financial development activities. • Develop a strong presence in both the camp and local communities. • Pursue fundraising goals as established by the UPBC Board of Trustees. • Manage compliance with all local, state and federal regulations. • Coordinate and oversee health and safety inspections. • Ensure emergency policies are in place and enforced. • Oversee camp discipline policies. • Coordinate program budgets with Program Directors. • Attend Board of Trustees meetings at the request of the President. • Help and serve in other areas as directed by the President of the Board of Trustees.
