Glorieta Adventure Camps is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the much-needed role of Guest Relationships Assistant. COMMUNITY The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have approximately 120 people who live on-site year-round, consisting of full-time staff, staff families, and seasonal staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for somewhat remote living.
Title: Guest Relationships Executive Assistant Department: Guest Relationships
Job Purpose: Overall Responsibility Maintain a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, is a consistent witness for Jesus Christ, and maintain a courteous, Christ-like attitude in dealing with the internal and external customers of the Camp Eagle Family of Camps. Create, adjust, and be competent with Salesforce reports Willingness to learn new skills and take on new tasks on a daily basis Ability to be flexible with time-off and new policies Form authentic relationships with group sponsors and leaders, teachers, future guests, and staff (full-time and seasonal) Run activities, facilitate group development sessions, prepare and clean meals, clean all of camp, answer the phone, and help in any way needed during any season of camp Host groups and events on a rotation with other Program Staff Aid in the purchasing of necessary equipment and material for the success of all programs Assist in gathering content for testimonies/truth stories for every program Be willing to work in Retreats, All Summer Programs, Conferences, Kitchen, and Housekeeping departments and be able to fill in as needed Assist in Summer Staff Recruiting/Training through: Sending out Summer Staff Supervisor Agenda weekly/taking notes Be a part of the Summer Discipleship program Mentoring/Leading Bible Studies throughout summer Coordinating Summer Staff Love efforts Help with Recruiting trips and follow-up, as needed Coordinating/Booking Summer Staff Housing Train Summer Staff in various activities during Staff Training Develop and Screen Summer Music playlists Help Schedule/Communicate with Guest Relationships Team as necessary Help all programs/departments on the team as needed with purchasing supplies: wristbands, banners, t-shirts, giveaways, media pieces, maps, signs, summer curriculum books, key cards, envelopes, etc Help all programs, as needed Manage the Director’s calendar and appointments, as needed Prep and set up for meetings (all staff, team meetings, etc.) and take notes during meetings Assist the Director in whatever else is required Assist the Director in maintaining excellent and consistent standards across all departments and developing new avenues of efficiency Assist the team and the Director in launching new areas of camp that includes but is not limited to Glorieta Adventures and Tourism Assist the Director in any needed tasks of being on the Executive team such as planning staff meetings, etc Assist the Director and the whole team in hiring and onboarding of new staff Assist the Director in all aspects of team development and full time training Assist the team and Director in dreaming through new areas of growth in all departments Help with all needs of the Director in organizing the full time team communication, calendar, reminders, answering questions, and staff love efforts Manage the Program Projects Manager that includes but is not limited to: Helping to prioritize, goal set, maintain high standards of work Coach them to help in their management of the Program Assistants Help them with all of their scheduling needs Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, recruiting trips, sales trips, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.
Character, Education, Abilities, Skills, Experience: The “ideal” candidate will have: A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and a commitment to scripture and will continue to pursue that further Strong sense of hospitality and customer service High degree of comfortability with phone calls and emails and guest interaction and public speaking College Degree is preferred Ability to use technological systems at camp more proficiently than the Director Proficiency in the use of spreadsheets more proficiently than the Director Experience with Salesforce Ability to work long hours Ability to confront, encourage, and inspire staff towards excellence in their work Easily communicates with guests and staff in a professional manner Strong administrative and organizational skills Experience with event planning or the equivalent is highly desired High level of managing details and and motivating people Ability to delegate and respond to situations in a Christ-centered way Ability to problem solve and be flexible and adaptable with the changing and developing needs of guests and staff and handle the resulting actions with speed and kindness
Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location in Glorieta, New Mexico Travel: Occasional travel to help with recruiting, marketing, or training. Physical Demands: Ability to lift 60 lbs, sit in office, hike, stand all day, be willing to get your hands dirty. Work Environment: Mainly a highly administrative job in the office however will be asked to help with logistics and all-camp projects, including working in inclement weather conditions throughout the year. Training: Employees will be given opportunities for improvement through appropriate training. Compensation: Salary, on-site housing, medical insurance, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
