Glorieta Adventure Camps is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and a desire to live and work in a close community to serve in the much-needed role of Recruiting and Hiring Assistant. The makeup of our community determines a large part of what it is like to live and work here. We have approximately 120 people who live on-site year-round, consisting of full-time staff, staff families, and seasonal staff. Glorieta is a beautiful place with many natural resources but calls for a somewhat remote living.

Reports To Recruiting and Hiring Manager

Job Purpose: To fulfill our mission statement by assisting in recruiting efforts to hire 200+ summer staff for a variety of positions. Summer staff is composed of college age students who work for 6-13 weeks from May-August and play a large role in our ministry by serving and leading thousands of campers.

Overall Responsibility

Primarily assist in planning and coordinating recruiting visits and travel schedule
Follow up with unfinished applications and leads
Conduct Christ centered interviews
Research and learn then strategize and execute new methods of recruiting
Maintain knowledge of summer staff positions at Glorieta to gain knowledge of each department to be able to present an informed front and job description when recruiting
Event planning and execution to attract interested students to serve at camp
Posting to a variety of social media platforms that positively promote summer employment
Building and maintaining relationships with college pastors
Meeting and maintaining relationships with potential or hired staff
Seek out speaking opportunities [classroom, small groups, church services, etc.]
Travel to college campuses, college ministries and other points of interest to create relationships for the purpose of recruiting
Collaborate with other team members to find new ideas for reaching college students
Research and order recruiting materials
Organize and pack for recruiting events
Handle and coordinate all necessary hiring paperwork for summer staff
Continue to cultivate recruiting strategies to attract, develop and retain quality staff
Contribute and participate in the greater Glorieta community
Other Duties of ALL Glorieta Staff: We operate year-round. We have guests on the premises almost every day of the year. Serving guests is our number one priority, and therefore ALL staff must participate in guest service in some capacity. Tasks may include cooking, cleaning, facilitating group activities, running retail locations, general maintenance of camp property, recruiting trips, sales trips, and work projects as needed. There are often groups here on weekends, and all staff members will be required to work certain weekends as needed.

The “ideal” candidate will have:

A vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ and commitment to scripture and will continue to pursue that further
Ability to take direction and be creative with tasks
Ability to comfortably and charismatically talk with strangers
Self-motivated initiative taker with ability to work without supervision
Excellent communication skills through phone, email, and face to face interactions
Organized and detail oriented
Able to speak proficiently in front of large groups of people
Flexibility in daily schedules and weekly travel schedules
Positive attitude with teachable mindset
Professional in communication
Ability to create energy in a group setting

Work Context: This job will be performed primarily on location in Glorieta, New Mexico

Travel: Occasional travel to help with recruiting, marketing, or training.

Physical Demands:

Able to lift and transport recruiting supplies [tents, displays, giveaways, etc]
Ability to work long hours for long stretches of days
Able to facilitate and participate in sport-like activities
Ability to drive for several hours
Work Environment: Most on-site work will be done within the recruiting office at Glorieta, New Mexico doing computer work or organizing and packing for recruiting trips. There will also be frequent travel required sometimes at short notice where you will be interacting with many different venues of ministry.

Training: Employees will be given opportunities for improvement through appropriate training.

Compensation: Salary, on-site housing, medical insurance, 401(k) retirement package after one year, and paid vacation time. See HR and/or potential supervisor for details.
