Maintenance Manager at Fort Bluff Camp

The Maintenance Manager is a Full-Time Exempt employee and will oversee the team that keeps our facilities safe and functioning properly. The Maintenance Manager position is a working supervisory position. The Maintenance Manager will report to the Operations Manager and President/CEO. The ideal candidate is someone able to lead a team with professional expertise while also focusing on the ministry that our organization seeks to accomplish. This Job Description is not intended to be all encompassing and other duties may be deemed necessary as management sees fit.

Responsibilities Include:

-Ensure all facilities are functional, safe, and ready for all guest upon arrival
-Implement workplace safety policies and standards
-Lead routine inspections of the the premises and equipment
-Schedule all maintenance team members
-Keep records of all maintenance projects including vehicle repairs and routine maintenance
-Provide preventative maintenance on buildings and vehicles
-Organize and upkeep all maintenance equipment and tools
-Develop and maintain a department budget
-Attend regular staff meetings
-Train and supervise employees of the maintenance department
-Repair machines, equipment, or structures in a timely manner
-Required to be on call for all emergency maintenance problems
-Responsible for the oversight of all special building and development projects
-Diagnose mechanical issues and schedule corrective action
-Oversee and negotiate with contractors when professional repairs are necessary
-Maintain the grounds and landscaping to include mowing, weed eating, leaf and tree removal
-Safely operate 2 swimming pools
-Utilizing various equipment and tools to complete repairs
-Operate a wide range of vehicles to accomplish tasks
-Assist in other departments as needed
-Additional tasks as deemed necessary by management
-Be available when necessary to respond to emergency repairs, fire alarms, and security of the property

Desired Skills and Competencies:

-Background in construction or facility maintenance
-Extensive knowledge in general safety and OSHA guidelines
-Highly skilled in leading a diverse team
-Ability to safely operate equipment including mini excavator, skid steer, tractor, dump truck, golf cart, pickup truck, trailers, lawn mowers, etc.
-Experience with plumbing, framing, or electrical trades
-Prefer a valid CPO certification
-Teachable spirit
-Active listening skills
-Organizational skills
-High School Diploma
-College Diploma or Equivalent work experience (preferred)

-Committed Christian lifestyle
-Must be able to assent to Fort Bluff Camp’s Staff policies for conduct and professionalism
-Evening and weekend work will be required as job duties demand
-Must have valid TN drivers license or be able to obtain one
-Ability to pass background check
-On-site housing will be required

Physical Work Environment:

-Standing and walking for the majority of the day
-Lifting, pushing, carrying, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing, balancing, reaching, handling, fingering, feeling at least 70% of the day
-Sitting less than 10% of the day
-Lifting up to 100 lbs. regularly
