Retail Manager
This is a full-time exempt position eligible for benefits
JOB SUMMARY:
The primary responsibility is managing and supervising the day-to-day operations and upkeep of coffee shop, food venues and Retail Staff. The role leads a staff of approximately 50 people during the busiest summer months. Forest Home is looking for a results-driven leader who is excited for the expansion of their multiple retail sites and growing staff in years to come.
Forest Home is located in the scenic mountains of Forest Falls, while also being just a few miles away from many shopping, dining, and housing options.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develops and maintains standards of quality for the Retail Department and coordinates the smooth operation of the department to ensure professionalism, customer satisfaction, efficiency, and safety. - Ensures the highest level of customer service is provided. - Responsible for scheduling staff and ensuring adequate staffing levels for all locations. - Increase sales through product knowledge, merchandising and staff training. - Directs the purchasing and inventory control systems. - Ensure proper product levels in store and in storage. - Oversight of the budget, expenditures and equipment repairs. - Responsible for maintenance schedules, cleanliness and organization of all venues. - Recruits, interviews, hires, trains, evaluates, and develops Retail staff. - Maintains a safety management program for retail staff. - Gives recommendations to the Director of Operations for department improvements and repair and replacement plans. - Actively supports and participates in staff spiritual life activities. - Understand and demonstrates Forest Home’s Core values. - Assists co-workers in applying Forest Home’s Core values. - Takes the appropriate conflict management steps with customers and other employees when needed. - Performs other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Recent experience in Fast Food, Coffee Shop and/or Restaurant Supervision/Management required. Ability to oversee a team of people and to manage product.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position supervises the retail staff.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, and requires sufficient hand, arm, and finger dexterity to operate retail machines. Requires mild physical work; some lifting, pushing, or pulling of objects over 20 pounds. Requires visual acuity to read words and numbers and speaking and hearing ability sufficient to communicate in person or over the phone.
