Program Intern - Summer Staff Coordinator

Twin Rocks Friends Camp is looking for a female intern to develop and coordinate our college-age summer staff program for summer 2022! We are hoping to fill this position as soon as possible and are looking for candidates who can work through the end of August 2022.

Responsibilities include:
• Work in conjunction with another intern and the Program Directors to coordinate the college-age summer staff program (an 11-week program consisting of 12-18 individuals typically between the ages of 19 and 24)
• Develop and facilitate every facet of this holistic program, including the elements of community building, spiritual development, and service
• Work in various other departments or capacities throughout the summer (but coordinating Summer Staff will be the primary function)

• A desire and ability to mentor and lead young adults
• Attention to programmatic and administrative details
• A heart for camp ministry as a whole
• Be over 21 years old

• $1,200 compensation per month
• Housing and utilities (including internet/wi-fi)
• Food when guests are being served
• Limited number of vacation days (based on hire date and length of contract)

About Twin Rocks Friends Camp and Conference Center:
We are a Christian camp located on the Oregon coast in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. Our camp has a 120-acre property that allows campers access to mountainside trails, a freshwater lake, and access to the beach. We have a year-round staff of around 50, which grows during the summer months. We can host over 350 campers at a time, and we use our facilities to serve a variety of groups, including our own in-house programs, public and private schools, churches, and other Christian or non-profit groups. Our Twin Rocks programs include outdoor education, summer youth and family camps, adult conferences, and more.

This job post is specifically for spring and summer of 2022, with the opportunity to extend your internship for the full 1-year internship cycle. This is a professional development internship that provides practical leadership experience as well as opportunities to explore interests in various departments. Intern cohorts are part of the Program Department, consist of 4-5 interns, and are directly supervised by the Twin Rocks Program Directors. If you are interested in that, below is an overview of the Twin Rocks professional internship experience.

Framework for the typical 1-year internship:
• Average of 40-50 hours of work per week, broken down in the following ways:
16-20 hours of operations for Housekeeping, Dish room, and Guest Hosting
12-18 hours of work in your specific area of interest, such as: Kitchen, Outdoor Education, Media and Marketing, Maintenance, Recreation, Program Development, Guest Services and Office Administration, Other options available!
12-18 hours of work for educational, professional, spiritual, and leadership development
• 10 vacation days and 5 winter holidays off for the whole year
• Monthly compensation of $1,200, plus housing, utilities, and food (when guest groups are served)
• Programmatic elements: Year-round staff mentorship, weekly intern gatherings and book studies, solo days or Sabbath retreat time, facilitating all-staff devotions and worship gatherings, ACA and CCCA retreats and conferences, educational tour of other Pacific Northwest camps, professional skills development (resume building, networking, interviewing, evaluations), opportunities to lead or facilitate the following programs:
• Summer Staff (young adult program)
• Servant Leadership Program (summer high school program)
• Junior High Jamboree (winter middle school camp)
• TRACKS (elementary-age after-school program)
