Advancement Coordinator

Position Description
Supervised by: Executive Director
Supervises: Volunteers and outsourced labor as assigned
Status: Ongoing, Full-time, Hourly
Location: Campus by the Sea (Santa Catalina Island, CA)

To advance the purpose of Campus by the Sea, this position will support the ongoing ministry of the camp, supply staff leadership for marketing efforts, manage corporate communications, maintain donor records (and contact management system) and coordinate volunteers.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work with the Marketing and Communications Committee to develop and implement annual plans for distributing all aspects of CBS promotion and information.
Coordinate a consistent and professional social media presence for CBS.
Respond to queries and/or social media comments.
Coordinate retail sales at CBS.
Maintain donor records and coordinate all receipting and messaging.
Work with active supporters (GAPS program) to develop and implement ongoing plans and involvement.
Coordinate travel and communication with GAPS participants coming to serve with special assignments or projects at CBS.
Develop education and enrichment opportunities for GAPS participants.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide Front Office support as needed (phones, “walk-up” service, etc.).
Assist with Operations tasks, Food Service, and Administration as requested or assigned.
Operate CBS vehicles and vessels in support of guest activities and ongoing operations.
Assist with budget development and ordering office supplies and equipment.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Annually affirm the Campus by the Sea Statement of Faith, Mission and Purpose
College degree or equivalent experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Effective planning and organizational skills
Ability to take charge of tasks and work independently
Ability to develop procedures for work/tasks
Flexibility to work irregular and extended hours as required
Must be able to work in a multigenerational and multicultural environment and demonstrate willingness to contribute to positive community development


DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Proficient in Microsoft Office and Publisher products
Knowledgeable and experienced in Social Media promotion and interaction
Experience in website development
Camping experience (summer staff or full-time staff)
Standard First Aid and CPR, adult & infant (willingness to pursue education to become certified)
Professional camping and/or ministry experience
